I was just in Vegas

Post by mharrod »

I saw where they are building the Margaritaville Cafe. They have a bunch of paintings attached to the outside construction wall that have titles of his songs...my favorite is the one with the parrot that says "why don't we get drunk".
I want one of those bad..if anyone knows how i can get one...let this parrothead know.
By the way, I'll be in Vegas again in October and for New Year's Eve....guess what my New Years Eve dinner wll consist of...

I was just in Vegas and saw where they're working on the new Margaritaville.
I have two observations:
First: What a prime piece of property...right smack dab middle of the Strip.
Second: Will it be ready on time? It sure didn't look like they were very far on construction!

They have to have it ready, cause I'm gonna be there beating on the door whether they are open or not.

My goal is to see a Buffett show in Vegas before he decides to stop touring. Having a Margaritaville Cafe there just gives me another reason to go.
Today is the tomorrow you spent yesterday worrying about. Was it worth it?

20 days left til this year's Vegas show, right? He's not planning on giving up on Vegas, is he? I'd like to see him there, but it won't be this year.

as far as i can tell, it is going to be right on the strip...the far end of the hotel opposite the big neon light entrance...they have it all closed off so you can't really see the progress...

does anyone know if Jan 1 is truely the opening date or it just is rumored since Jimmy said 'January' at the show...I am strongly considering Vegas for new years this year and some type of concert while we are there would just be a hell of a way to ring in the new year!

PHINZ UP

We ask ourselves when we get in a fix,
what would Popeye do in a tight spot like this?
He'd race to his true love and easily win it, in a all spinach can with a mast stuck in it!

From a reliable source in Las Vegas . . .

Margaritaville is scheduled to open late November - tentatively for the week before Thanksgiving.

Jimmy is trying to fit a trip into his 'already planned but yet to be announced' winter travel/tour schedule for early January. They have requested permission from the city to close down the strip for an outdoor block party in front of the new Margaritaville restaurant featuring a concert by Jimmy and friends.

The only thing better than an indoor concert in Vegas would be an outdoor concert in Vegas!
