I've got a parrot head just above my right ankle. It has two ribbons, with my daughters names on them.

I've got a knock-off of the t shirt design with the pirate parrott drinking a rita and I change the saying on the ribbon below it to read " A Pirate looks At Fifty" instead of forty. It covers my upper left arm and is in great colors. It took five hours and twenty minutes start to finish.

I'm looking for someone to draw something for me and depending how it comes out it may end up being a tattoo. Maybe just a t-shirt. Will see how it comes out. It's a scarlet macaw and blue and gold macaw wrapped around each other to form a yin yang symbol. We will see.

How about listing estimates on the prices of these tattoos being listed. I want one but was curious about price. I was also wanting one of the cartoon parrots from the back of one of my shirts. Pictures of the tattoos would be awesome too!

my tat was $135, and is fairly decent in size, and it has lots of color. ill take a pic tonight and post it here. it has lots of detail; even a tiny salt shaker on the parrott's foot

The image I keep going back to for a tattoo I'd want is the Parrot in this sticker sitting in a lounge chair. I'd want it exactly like this w/ the Hawaiian shirt, the blender, the Margarita, baseball cap, etc. I don't need the stuff in the background, just the parrot and all the stuff around him.

My question for those of you in the know would be, how realistic is getting something like this done? Would it have to be huge to capture the detail? Would it be extremely expensive with all the color? Any estimates on problems I might have getting this would be cool. Thanks.

Gumbo,

It is possible. Mine was a sticker that the artist scanned and he made a transfer from the scan for the outline. He filled in the color by looking at the sticker. The Tat itslef is about 4" x 3 " or there abouts

Choose a good artist. The first place that I went to said that he could do it, but wasn't sure the sunglasses on the iguana would turn out. Second guy I went to did it, sunglasses included. Hell he even managed to include the cord on the sunglasses.

Good luck

BTW I think you are looking at big bucks with the color changes and detail

i was in the same predicament. i wanted just the bird and not the hammock it was laying in. also, i didnt want the baseball cap it was wearing, and you couldnt even see its other foot because another parrot was covering it up. i went to a few places and they said they couldnt do it. then i went to a very proffesional place in new orleans and they did it perfectly. so its really just making sure you find the right tattoo parlor and artist

Check out the FAQ for good instructions on posting pics. The main thing is that you must first put them up on another site so as it can be linked from here. You just can't post directly to this site.

Once you do that, and know the exact address where your picture is, you type .

I have a pirate flag on my right ankle. It's Calico Jack Rackham's flag (skull and crossed swords). I made a design for shark fins to go around my arm, but I'd rather have the money for VEGAS!!! The tat will me cost $150. I also have to get a parrot on my shoulder (I am a pirate after all), but I haven't come up with a design yet.

I am looking for a relatively small tattoo design, like 2x2, that would have a shark (or a fin) with a dive flag incorporated somehow. Has anyone seen this or know a good place to look for it? Thanks.

My tatoo design was taken from a black and white newspaper ad for a Buffett show in the late eighties.... don't remember which one.... but it's a parrot in a hawaiin shirt and hat playing a guitar. Anyway the artist just told me to give him a day to re-sketch it and blow it up..... we decided which colors to use during the process... all for $125. It's about 3 inches tall. :D :D

That sounds like an awesome tattoo. I'd like to see that! I play the guitar as well and would like to have the parrot doing that!
