His music keeps me from sinking too deep in depression. Anyone else feel remotely this way or am I the only one with issues? :)

When Winter runs through April, Buffett really is all that keeps me going! And when the weather turns nice, blasting School Boy Heart with the sunroof and windows open brings a big smile to my face. :D :D

So, no, you're not the only one!

Spent 11 months as a 3rd shift supervisor in a tiny town in NC directly out of college. A good amount of friends remained in college and were still having the time of their life. I was bored/lonely/tired/you name it for those 11 months. Thats when I got really into Buffett. The only thing I'd look forward to somedays would be going down to the apartment pool, putting some Buffett in the walkman, and taking a nap.

If it hadn't been for Jimmy Buffett, I don't think I woulda made it through the late 70's and early 80's. It was me and the keet and Bubba 'kept us together' - - in more ways than one.

Now, his music just make my happiness that much sweeter.

Thank you, Jimmy. For the magic that touches us all.

I've wanted to thank Jimmy for some time now. There is no overstating how much of an impact his music has made on my life

I think that for the most part either your life style leads you to the music or the music sort of encourages a lifestyle. For me it was my lifestyle that led to finding Buffett in the 70's. For twenty some years now I have never gotten sick of his music. His subject matter has grown and changed and so have I, but the old stuff will always hit home the deepest.

Thank you Jimmy for our "Songlines to live by"

What you hafta beware of is the post-concert depression disorder. This requires immediate planning of a trip to another venue, something to set your sights on and look forward to.
I wouldn't have survived last year's post-concert funk without BN and PHriends and a wild & crazy road trip!
And listening to RadioMargaritaville, and gathering for concert broadcasts and replays, and the MSC, and.....

I agree, Jimmy helps to keep me sane ( or Insane ). Especially on those cold winter nights working out the the middle of nowhere. Just pop a little Jimmy in the old CD player and the wind, snow and cold just go away. Someday I will!!

For what it's worth, I am a college student studying Music. I spend hours everyday studying and listening to Classical music. I will be graduating next May with plans to be a high school choral director. Many of my friends and people of my nature are very "cultured" and look down upon music that "falls short" of Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, etc. For me, it is completely different. Buffett is my daily outlet from the "high brow" world of music. When I was about 7, I discovered my father's records, and began jamming to the Beatles and Buffett. I found a taped copy of Feeding Frenzy in the entertainment center cabinet, and immeadiately was hooked. I still get chills listening to it, memories of traveling to the beach for a family vacation with Buffett in my headsets. The more I get into music and understand it, the more I appreciate Bubba. He doesn't worry about the rules and expectations of musical counterpoint, but just does what sounds good and does'nt care about anybody else. Many people do this, but their music is very shallow and dated. Buffett's music will live forever in the hearts and minds of all who just want to get away for a while, and enjoy the tropical lifestyle of Margaritaville. I wear my Carribean Soul shirts proudly through the music building at least twice a week here at college, that is my musical passion.
