Chicago 23rd sold out in 34 minutes. A new record???
We got lucky this time. 9 people (7 in-line 2 on-line) trying and we ended up with 64 tix. Best was YY 206.
So how did everyone else do?
I swear...it get tougher every year.
PHINS!!!

Tickets.
Jimmy Buffett sold out in 34 min. If you want tickets, you could always PAY-UP with the ticket scalpers. They always have the good seats. What a scam. How can they get the best seats , while you and I get screwed?
My guess is that most people got nothing. With that I'm sorry to hear. Like some people say there has to be a better way for "the fans" to get seats. Hey JIMMY, what do You say about this problem?
I was wrong, It seems that Buffett sold out in less than 5 Min. Like I said before, the ticket brokers have most of the great seats. So if you want to see J B, You have to pay up. Hopefully Jimmy will find a way to put a stop to this, so the Fins, I mean Fans can see him without paying up.

You're joking about the new record part, right?
34 minutes???
Most venues would be truly grateful to have a whole 34 minutes before tickets were gone. Detroit sold out in two minutes and even those with as many in line as you had got totally skunked for tickets.
Enjoy your tickets and be very grateful you don't live where they are tougher to come by.

Great woods sold out in 10-15 minutes last month, and that was 2 shows not 1........ not to mention there were many other shows going on sale the same time as great woods, had GW been the only show onsale it would have went in 5 minutes at the most. 34 Minutes, that's my dream.
BTW I have to ask ('cause no one else has yet), why and what are you doing with 64 tickets for one show?

We managed to get two sets of 3 tickets-one set online and one set in line-I was the third person in line. and one of the brokers was there, once again buying handicapped seats-i still want to know how he gets away with it, and how i can stop him. gumby-when I wrote in about this with the Thursday tickets you commented that handicapped could not be bought this way-well, this is the second time I watched a broker do it, and I am fed up with it. If they are making a profit off of those, they really should be ashamed of themselves!

I hear ya Gumby and respect your opinion immensely, but ...sirgumby77 wrote:you MUST REMEMBER
The tweeter in Tinley park fits over 40,000 people. Most venues only fit like 25,000 at most, i know Great woods is about 19,000 Pine Knob is about 16,000. So you are looking at over 80,000 tickets being sold just for the tinley park shows.
But I ended up with two (2!) sets of pavilions for the Thursday Chicago show (a show have I have no chance of attending and but for a funeral yesterday could have scored pavilions again for the Saturday show) and couldn't get one set of pavilions for Camden and/or Great woods shows...
Sorry, but no contest in my mind...
You can have my pavilion tickets for the Tweeter Center in Chicago for a pair of lawns (maybe even a program if they still do them) from anywhere else on this leg of the tour except for Cincy (another overated Buffett town)
It's just my opinion, but after but 20+ years of trying and getting tickets... I've earned that opinion
I've been treated well

I heard it sold out in 2 seconds, yup all 80,000 seats in 2 seconds
How do you guys come to these conclusions as to when a venue is sold out anyway? There were a couple times when someone from ticketmaster told me the show was sold out and 10 minutes later I've gotten tickets. I'm from the opinion that NO SHOW IS EVER SOLD OUT, THERE ARE ALWAYS MORE TICKETS!

Last month while in line for GW tix, the guy in right front of me wanted Saturday Pavilion tickets the guy operating the TM computer looked and said he only had single tickets available for Saturday needless to say he was p*** and I was not happy so the guy got 4 single tickets (Paying $72ea figuring he could use them go to the Lawn), I was next I told the guy I need 6 Pavilion for saturday and asked him to check one more time and low and behold there were 6 Pavilion together dead center which I bought, as I said before the guy who was in front of me was still close enough to see this and was not to happy, he paid the same as I did but he is forced to use his tickets as Lawn as his are scattered singles.

I came to the 14 minute conclusion for Alpine because at 10:13 the person ahead of me in line tried for 4 lawn seats and couldn't get them. I then asked for one and did. The people behind me were also shut out, looking for 2. I then talked to my cousin, who was online and finally got through at 10:14, and was denied. Later, I come on here, and Shrimper Dan is also saying 14 minutes. That's a lot of people who agree.

Two years ago alpine sold out in 11 minuets and this years 18. Alpine holds 40k people my guess is 34 minuets is in fact not a record

If anyone has 4 extra lawn seats for the 8/23 Chicago show that they could sell to a fellow parrothead, it would be greatly appreciated.
I was on vaca when tickets went on sale, and got shut out.
Please e-mail me at: tomandjenniesmall@msn.com

Why 64 tix?
I was asked "Why 64?"
Believe me, we aren't greedy, we just have needs...
We are buying for our phrinds that have been going with us for over 10 years.
This will be our 14th year going to the Saturday show for Buffett.
Our group started as two couples and has since expanded to a fairly large phlock.
We used to all meet up around noon at Poplar Creek and party till the gates open.
Now that Poplar is gone and we've move to the Word (ok...Tweeter) the plan has since changed a bit.
Nowadays the party starts at noon at our place (thats when I pour my 1st margarita), chartered bus picks us up at 4:30 (the Margarita's and Coronas go down pretty good on a bus), we arrive at the Word around 5:30 (Even more Margarita's and Coronas in the parking lot), 6:00 is the running of the blankets (we bring a big 20' x 40' tarp and stake a spot 20' up and center (we always share our space with others), and then wait for the party to begin.
Was just checking our notes for last year's consumption (we need to know how much to order for the next year...)
For 60 people
3 - quarts Jose Cuervo (gota do some shots!!!)
21 - 1/2 gallon Jose Cuervo Margaritas
14 - 12 packs Corona
4 - Cases pop
6 - Cases water
During the pre-Tweeter days, they had group sales. That has since gone away and now I'm on the phone like everyone else coordinating people and hoping for the best.
This was the toughest year yet and we got very lucky. For Chicago's 2nd show (Saturday) I think this was the quickest tickets sold out. Yes, I know tix occasionally show up minutes, hours or days later, but they were down to onesies, twosies in 30 minutes this year. In past years lawn was available for an hour+.
If this trend continues, our tradition may soon end...

Re: Tickets.
If you call the scalpers, the prices are up to $1500 ea. That is for seats up front. Most of the phans can't afford those seats!! What is Jimmy going to do? NOTHING. as long as he is getting richer!!.Ron Raney wrote:Jimmy Buffett sold out in 34 min. If you want tickets, you could always PAY-UP with the ticket scalpers. They always have the good seats.
