New Set List ....Thoughts?

Post by BottleofRum »

I for one hope he adds “Changes in Latitudes….” For the outdoor summer tour. That is my favorite of his “greatest hits” and there is nothing like seeing that days parking lot footage with Jimmy singing it in the background. He only did it @ one stop of February tour, missing was also Brown Eye Girl which isn’t a big loss. I did like the additional of Pencil Thin…

I liked the set list for the most part! Although Boomerang Love and Honey Do aren't my very favorites, it was nice to see some different stuff. I agree with you on CILCIA, but you just like the video part because you were on it in Vegas last year!!!   Burn that Bridge is cool, glad to see that as well as Apocolypso, Mexico, & Saxophones! Can't wait to hear it all live in Dallas & Vegas!!!! 8)

I liked the setlist... we all know that it will eveolve as the summer tour gets really cookin'! I think that we will see some FSOTW stuff as time goes on. I always like BEG, so I'm hopeful for that. BUT....

The bottom line continues to be that just seeing Bubba and the band is worth whatever is played... so, as long as he comes to GW ( and I'll be there both nights!!!) and plays a fun and rollicking show, that's what I'm there for! :D

he needs to add Far Side Of The World back, that should become a staple on the tour. It is the best song he has written in 10 years.

Good point Ragtop! I wouldn't be too upset if he added 'Someday I Will' back to the set list! A lot of the FSOTW stuff is great!!!

Houston Set List

Post by CalypsoCoog »

I thought the set list was great. It was great hearing songs like "Boomerang Love", "Great Heart" , and "Apocalypso" . Jimmy and The Reefers did a good job keeping some of the crowds "party favorites" , and intorducing some new old songs to the set. I wish we had one more night

Easy on thr BEG.... I know it's been overdone.... I know that there's only so many songs that get in the setlist... but, the horns in BEG are simply awesome!!!!

I really haven't had time to think about what I saw last night and I haven't even looked at the actual set list, but I can tell you this....Jimmy was as happy and as comfortable as I've seen him...yep, the set list is a bit more mellow, but so is Jimmy and I think the changes suit him right now. The time with just Mac and him on the stage was sheer magic to me. They are so in sync with each other and we're the better for it.

I don't know why Jimmy's face just doesn't cramp up into one big ball....his wide, happy, generous, glorious grin NEVER left his face during the entire night.

Can't wait to see if there are changes as the tour progresses....I don't know if he can do HE WENT TO PARIS the entire tour....he was very emotional at the end. The wide screen cameras were real tight on his face...and he was fighting to keep it together.....He had dedicated it to the shuttle astronauts.

The band is also in rare form. I watched them pretty closely last night...they were all smiling and there didn't seem to be any down time for 'em.

The number with Nadira is awesome. I can't wait to hear it again. Sorry I can't remember the name of it...THE NATIVES ARE RESTLESS, I think....she's got a great set of pipes and I'm glad he's showcasing her more.

I'm quite pleased witht the current list, and although songs like CILCIA and FSOTW are missing, it's still a great list. :D

East Texas Parrot Head was right on with his review. I really really like the new set list...by the way the stage decorations, and Polynesian dancers were awesome!! Thw whole Tiki Time theme was very cool, and well done.

While the Hawaiian WDWGDAS was a surprise and might take a little getting used to, I thought Doyle's steel guitar sounded GREAT!!!

ETP did give a great overview of last's night show. However, one thing I noticed was how he included all of the reefer's into A Pirate Looks At Forty. It's been a while since he has done that.
