Nashville show,one word,AWESOME
I just got in from Nashville at 12:30 almost, and it totally kicked a$$,this was my first concert and about 90% of the crowd was my age, mainly college aged, and almost everybody was wasted. Now i can see what the appeal for Bubba is.The sparkler thing did happen, during Why Don't We Get Drunk. And the hula contest winner was a little 3 or 4 year old girl and JB said it was called "Why don't we eat lunch at school?" but he played the lyrics from the original song.Alan Jackson came out for Margaritaville and Kenny Chesney joined him and Bubba for Volcano, that was the absolute best live song I've ever heard.I've been to Springsteen,Chesney,Jackson, and McGraw but I would take Jimmy anyday over all of them put together.I snuck in a camera and got some pics that I hope will turn out ok,I'll be sure to post them if they do.On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this concert a 11(as korny as it may sound)this concert was the best I've ever been to,I plan to go back next year and keep going back as long as he keeps coming.

tnbuffettfan, like a fellow bn'er told me after my first Buffett concert, "either you get it or you don't, and you obviously get it!" Wish I could have been there to see Jimmy's posse show up during Volcano. It sounded like the crowd went wild. Phins Up and welcome aboard!

Glad you had a good time on your first show, it sounded really great. The xtra's are all PH's at heart, hats off to AJ and Kenny. Trust me on this one exception from your euphoria, 90% was likely not college age, it is how we age, we grow older but not up, a Parrothead trait.

Bobby: No.

Yeah.......I look college age........of course, that might be because I am 19 and in college
....but I do have to agree with the rest, Buffett fans for the most part, manage to grow older but not up, and most do not look their age at all.
I've read dozens of books about heros and crooks and have learned much from both of their styles.

tnbuffettfan...very glad to hear you enjoyed your 'virgin' concert! There was never a doubt that you would.
The thing is now that you are hooked on that emotional high from a Buffett concert, you won't want to wait till next year to do it again. I'm betting you'll be looking for a way to get to another concert for another fix soon.

I totally agree, the concert last evening was amazing, and we had great weather for it too, which is pretty unusual here. By the way, did anyone else see the cover band before the show? I caught their performances of "Livingston Saturday Night", "Southern Cross", and "Cuban Crime of Passion" and I was pretty impressed.

Excellent Excellent show!! Only bad thing was NO Tin Cup
Jimmy had lots of energy and kept the crowd pumped!! The show was over way too soon for me! My husband and I both lost our voices...his is a bit worse. We ended up going up Friday night, and oh man we had a hell of a time! I'll be recovering for the next two weeks. Thanks to some connections we had..we got bumped up from lawn to section six..we had awesome seats!! I think my husband might have shed a tear or two.
It was so cool looking back over the crowd during Fins. Now we just have to find another show we can make it to this year because our Buffett needs haven't been completely fixed. The guest stars made it even better...Alan Jackson was awesome!! Kenny was great too. And the little girl that won the hula contest was the cutest thing you've ever seen. And she wasn't shy at all she hopped right up on that stage and hulaed the whole song. Anyway, it was great, so great!!
Goin' where the weather suits my clothes...-

I still can't get over how awesome the show was.. and we had a great time at the pre concert party as well. Me and my wife took some photos at the Holiday Inn pre party and I thought I would post a link... and if you see yourself in any of them it's ok.. they're anonymous..
Seriously, other than the group I was with I don't know anyone in these photos so if you see a pic of yourself and you don't want it in there just pm me.

Most definitely, AWESOME! We had a blast from the pre-party with the Muscle Shoals PHC at the Holiday Inn Express/La Vergne (thanks guys!) to the concert itself. It was a great show and I must admit that I'm now hooked on getting reserved seats instead of the lawn. We're still getting mud out of our toes from the Atlanta show.

This is my review of the show:
PRE SHOW PARTY---Holiday Inn at Crossings, this was your typical pre show party that included a fantastic band and more lovely ladies than I could count. The weather was perfect and great vibes everywhere. I love the picture of the "Jimmy's Four Blonde Strangers" girls that was posted, since I was trying to figure out what their shirts meant because I never saw them standing together. I had a giant parrot pinata as a hat so I spent alot of time posing for pictures with strangers.
PARKING LOT---Whoever said there is no tailgating in Nashville was seriously mistaken. Out in the "lawn" part of the lot there was nothing but serious partying going on: drinking, "smoking", there were even some folks jamming on the steel drums and I was strumming the six string for a few listeners. Frisbees and footballs were being thrown and the day was completed with a nice orange sunset....IT WAS SHOWTIME!!
THE SHOW---After waiting in line to get in, the ID checkpoint line so my friends could get beer, and the actual beer line (where I met BN'er KY Flamingo) it was finally time to hear some Buffett. I noticed there were alot of children at this show and also there seemed to be more very drunk teenagers than usual. We settled into some seats in the Pavilion and enjoyed the warmup songs of the show. Here are my
HIGHLIGHTS---The opener is always a highlight for me and this "Great Heart" didn't dissapoint. "Burn That Bridge", "Honey Do", and "One Harbor" were my favorite songs of the 1st set but the real deal was about to be unvieled in the form of an epic 2nd set. Alot of people seemed to be puzzled by the "Swing Tiki" to open the set but I thought it created the perfect vibe! We spent this set in between the lawn and the pavilion so the dancing could be big and carefree, with plenty of crazy movements!! What can I say, "Coast of Marsielles" was shocking and beautiful, other highs were "Boomerang" and "Last Mango-La Vie Dasante coda". The true major highlight of this show was a monster "Volcano" that included some guy named Chesney? who I am not familiar with. This was probably the loudest, happiest version of any Buffett song I've ever heard live, with the exception of the MONSTER "Southern Cross" encore that had me dancin in the streets! Awesome show....
CONCLUSION---I think Nasville is underrated, its a great venue and Jimmy seems to play with tons of passion there. Maybe its because he used to live there and got his start in the "Bidness" there. No other cities, (yes that includes almighty Great Boston) can say that. Something made Jimmy play a helluva show 4-19-03!!!
Have a great tour fellow Heads!!

WOW WHAT A SHOW!!!!
Nashville was my 21st Buffett show and it was the best I have ever seen! The energy was amazing and the set list kept me dancing all night long. The guest appearances from Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney were an unexpected and wonderful surprise. I saw more than 1 PH shed a few tears during the night and I know exactly how they felt.
I know that there were a lot of BNers there, but I only met 1 (Luni's Backyard), a fellow KY PH. I hope to see more of you soon on the Tiki Tour!! (Chicago and Cincy are my next 2 stops)

Incredible
Wow, let me start by saying that this was my fifth show and in my opinion the best. Not much more to add since everyone has covered it pretty well. This is my first post on the Forum and I'm looking forward to hanging out with everybody.

No no honey, maybe 50 percent were college-age, the rest of us just LOOKED like it! Every muscle and joint on my body is aching like a toothache--even my jaw muscles from laughing. The Friday nite get-together at the Beer Sellar downtown was HUGE!!! I cannot believe they have my favorite beer, Abita Purple Haze on TAP!!!! You Smokey Mt. parrotheads sure worked your tails off, thank you so much!! (Ask John if that girl behind him in line to get a drink ever stopped UNDULATING!!???????) That was my favorite word of the night. Tall Paul probably got tired of seeing our group everywhere they played those two days. And Matt and Tall Paul (the Banana Hammocks) did a heck of a job at the pre-concert. The tailgate at the Best Western was even better than last year.... I have our conga-line on video! I love all you great people I met there. Parrothead Michelle, we were in section 6 too, I didn't see ya!!! We were in the back row on the aisle to the left. All 12 of the people (8 of them virgins) we brought to the concert are going back next year. They couldn't believe how wonderful everything was and how everyone you meet is a potential good friend. Except whoever stole my FINZUP magnet that was on my car... may they get carbuncles on their buttbuncle. And the ol' camera down the cleavage didn't fool the security check woman, I had to check it and get it after the concert. Oh well, I tried.!!!!!!!!!!!!
