Fed Up

I really hate doing this, but It seems everyone is whining and complaining about not getting tickets. I am going to share a few ways with you all, so you can get tickets next time Jimmy comes around. (SG77 Being nice---so please pay attention. First of all, who ever wants to go to the concert with you MUST GO WITH TO GET TICKETS. THIS MEANS ALL MUST GO TO AN OUTLET TO GET TICKETS. WHO EVER DOES NOT GO DOESNT GO TO THE SHOW, JUST THAT PLAIN AND SIMPLE. If you go online or over the phone, you can blame yourself for not getting tickets. Phones and internet can get really bogged down. Now that you have everyone with you who is going to the show, you all get different numbers so you have a better place in getting in line. Another thing is MAKE FRIENDS WITH PEOPLE IN LINE. Say none of you get real close in line, well that person may not be using their lotto ticket, due to one of their friends getting a better space in line. WOW YOU GET A BETTER PLACE IN LINE. THIS METHOD WORKS. I HAVE YET TO BE SHUT OUT FOR TICKETS TO ANY JIMMY BUFFETT SHOW I HAVE EVER STOOD IN LINE FOR. Sorry for that Vent, but i felt it was in due time for me to get it off my shoulders.

Good advice Gumby, however I have stood in line almost every time tickets go on sale for our area and never get them--and I normally take our keet so we will have a better chance.
My husband stays at home on the internet and he has got tickets every time--and we are on dial up.
Guess it just depends on where you are.

I guess it works for differant people in differant areas,I waited in line for a little over an hour(i was about 7th in line)and still got reserved seats, some friends of mine ordered over the phone and all they could get was lawn.Standing in line worked for me so thats what I'm going to stick with.

I bought tickets to Jimmy's February show on Raliegh online. I didn't anticipate being able to go then, at the last minute, decided to try and get tickets. I got good seats and did it all from the conveneince of my computer.
Today is the tomorrow you spent yesterday worrying about. Was it worth it?

I should have mentioned. With that method, I have never been shut out for ANY concert, be it the Page and Plant show, numerous Van Halen shows, Aerosmith shows, Rolling Stones, and KISS. You just gotta know how to work the lines.

I understand what you are saying...and we do try that. We had 4 people in line all seperate numbers. But, at 5 to 10 they announced that Alpine wasn't even in the system, then at like 10:05 they said sold out. Wouldn't have mattered if we had 100 people in line. There was a major screw up with the computers and it screwed most of us in Chicago. Bad luck mixed with an already ridiculous system.

You've made strong points and I have tried your methods before, with much success. BUT, it does help when the doors of the place you are waiting in line at open before 10:00 instead of 10:05, because the the employees don't have the front door key. AND, it does help if the person running the ticket master machine knows how to use the computer to find your tickets, then the show sells out and he just replies "Huh sorry". This story is 100% true, and it happen to me and another 5 parrotheads in Fargo, when purchasing tickets for Alpine this year. Shotty opperation if you ask me. :x

For Vegas I waited in line, and was first in line, not enough people to require a lottery. At 10:00, TM didn't have the show on the system yet, and I had to keep letting other people go ahead of me for other shows. After making a pain-in-the-ass of myself, I got the guy to keep checking and it finally showed up on the TM computer system at 10:07. I got seats, but in the nosebleed section...

Somebody wanna make a sh**load of money? start a ticket system that works!!!

I was just wondering if anyone could help a fellow parrothead with 4 lawn tickets to the 8/23 show in Chicago.
I was out of town this year when tickets went on sale, and got shut out.
Please help me out if at all possible.
Thanks.

The BEST way to make sure you get tickets is to buy season tickets for the venue (or know someone who has them). In Denver, sections 104 to 120 were sold at the pre-sale for season ticket holders. That doesn't leave much left for ticketmaster.
