Do you miss Brown Eyed Girl?

Post by Burny Charles »

I'm just curious as to how the numbers fall concerning the absence of Brown Eyed Girl in the setlist this year. As for me, I will really miss the song when I go to a show. I know its overplayed, but I still think its a great crowd song, and it really gets the energy pumping. What are your all's thoughts?

I'm a bit indifferent. If it's played, great, but if not, that's okay too. It's a great song and after hearing Jimmy's version the original just doesn't appeal too much to me anymore. I like Jimmy's a lot better! :D

Well, my "undecided" just made it a 3-way tie! :o :D

I like the song but there are so many more I've never heard live that I understand the need to mix things up.
And unless a second ticket-miracle occurs  I won't be bringing my (brown-eyed) daughter this year, so it really doesn't upset me to give it a rest this tour. 8)

I miss it big time. There's nothing like dancing with a cute browneyed girl at the concert.

Sorry to disagree but I just tied up the "heck no" category with the "misses it" group. It's cool but it's one of those I get tired of really quick. I'd much rather hear one of Jimmy's great originals than his cover of brown eyed girl. That's one of those songs (to me) that no matter who covers it, it will never come close to Van the man's original version.

No... (to Brown Eyed Girl that is...) Margaritaville is the anthem dude. Can't leave it out. Just a thought. If he never wrote Margaritaville, none of this may have ever happened...

Even though I am a brown eyed girl (lower case) and I enjoy him singing this song, there are lots of other songs of his I would like to hear more.
I like that idea of a four hour concert, if it didn't kill his voice! And isn't Jane a brown eyed girl?

As for Margaritaville, whenever I hear the first strains of that on the radio, I get a huge smile on my face and in my heart. I love that song and I hope I never get sick of it.

I'm with the person who wants a 4 hour concert. I wish JB could play them all. I guess I'm indifferent. If it's played, GREAT, if not, OH WELL.

What no one really knows at all, is that when van morrison wrote that song it was written for a GREEN EYED GIRL. I say keep it out of the set list. Song is way overdone, and done by too many artists now a days.

It is such a big concert hit, it is hard to say you don't miss it. I agree with what was said about the original, since JB's version, Van's is not too hot. Anyway, I missed it this year, bottom line is exciting to see the crowd reaction. He has so many great songs it is still a great concert.
