My sympathy to Jimmy on the loss of his father
I'm sure it has been said but I thought that I would offer my sorrow for the loss Jimmy's father. Perhaps Jimmy reads this site once in a while. I don't want to pound email or tons of cards to him, but Jimmy if you ever look here or hear about your fans on this site, rest assured that we do care and recognize the loss.
I think you said it best in a song ... "he's somewhere on the ocean now".
Best,
Boatdrinker

What Boatdrinker Said. I'm not that close to my dad but I called him when I heard Jimmy's father had passed. I think I'll surprise him with a visit next month. Jimmy if you are reading, thank you for sharing so much through your songs. The Captain and the Kid has always been one of my favorites. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

I was able to make a donation to the James Delaney Buffett, Junior, Scholarship Fund at the Maine Maritime Academy with my credit card. They don't do it on their web site but I spoke to a very nice woman who took my info over the phone. Everyone there was very nice and explained how the fund was set up, who benefits from the scholarships and how they plan to honor Jimmy's dad.
Here is the contact info for the woman I spoke to:
Victoria B. Stearns, Associate for Development, vstearns@mma.edu, (207) 326-2490
The Academy's web site is http://www.mainemaritime.edu/

My thoughts and prayers also go out to Jimmy and the rest of the Buffett family,in Jimmy's book,"A Pirate Looks at 50",it seems like him and his dad had some great memories,I know Jimmy will miss him greatly.
