well to completely honest with you yount I thought it was one of my least favorite cd's that Jimmy has come out with. I like it and some songs on there and for the fact that its a Jimmy Buffett cd but its near the bottom of the list as far as Buffett favorites.

Just this week I have REALLY been into BHOTM, I think it is some of Jimmy's best work! It's a little slower paced than alot of his stuff but the words just seemed to make sense to me this week and it is stuck in my CD player! Ever since I have been a PH, I have not always liked an album or a song when I first heard it, but its amazing how soem tunes grow on you until they become one of your favorites!!!!

I like this album too. And you're right, there have been many times I've first heard a song and didn't like it and then all of a sudden it hits you and you can't get it out of your head!

I agree, great album. A semi-true story is a great song, Pacing the cage, Beach house on the Mooon. Yeah there are some differrent songs on the album ( Math sucks)-it does by the way, but BHOTM is a very solid effort by Jimbo.

For those interested go to http://buffett.ontheweb.nu/ and download the 1974 Exit Inn show in Nashville. He tells the story about dancing on the hood of the cadillac with his golf shoes which is in "A semi-true story." Classic show.

I'd rate the album about a 6 or 7 (on a scale of 1 to 10). There's some weak tunes...Permanent Reminder, You Call It Jogging, Math Suks, I Don't Know but there's also some tunes that are fabulous...Flesh And Bone (wonderful background vocals), Gumbo, Spending Money, Semi-true Story, Lucky Stars. Some of the better material is reminiscent of older JB styles. That's my 2 cents.

You know what they say opions are like .....?
Mine, BHOTM is a great, maybe not best, but great CD. I personaly am a fan of Buffett's newer songs. A lot of people take more to his older songs and style. Just keep an open mind as you embrace all of Buffett's music.

BHOTM is a decent album. but the first 4 songs of the album seemed like he really didnt want to be singing. i still like the song beach house. it definatly isnt the quality of Far Side which i thought is right near the top just behind A1A. all in all there are a lot of other JB albums i would pick before beach house but hey its buffett and any buffett song is great! FINZ UP!!

also is anyone here goin to chicago? i'll be there both shows and want to know if anyone here will be around...

It's definitely not my favorite....but it's not too bad...The cover is worse than any songs contained within it...Far Side of the World was definitely a step up....but not as high as Fruitcakes, Barometer Soup, or Banana Wind....if were talking about the "newer" stuff...

The title cut is good, along with Lucky Stars and Pacing the Cage. But there are a lot of songs that I don't care a whole lot for - You Call it Jogging, Flesh and Bone, Waiting for Next Explosion. And I agree with the others that Far Side is much better

I like it. It had to grow on me a little bit but after a listen or two I was hooked. "Beach House On the Moon," "I Don't Know And I Don't Care," "Oysters And Pearls," and "I Will Play for Gumbo" are some of my favorites on it. I especially love "Pacing the Cage" even more now after hearing it live in Nashville. Definatley a great album, in my honest opinion. Welcome aboard! :D

In my humble opinion, since you asked, it's a great album.
I catagorize it as a "more recent stuff" cd, then again I'm an old fart.
However, I like it better then Fruitcakes, and Banana Wind,
but not as much as FSOTW and my all time favorite Barometer
Soup. As always, G.M.,Jr.

I like it a lot. Some of my favorite songs are on this CD: "I Will Play for Gumbo", the title song, "Oysters and Pearls", "Pacing the Cage". In fact the only one I don't care that much for is "You Call It Jogging".

What a few of you said about not liking something at first is so true. When I first heard the "FSOTW" CD, I wasn't that enthused. I thought there were one or two songs I liked. A Buffett site (COBO, maybe) posed a question, "Which is you favorite song on "FSOTW". As I relistened to the CD, I thought well, I like this one best. Then I'd hear another song and I'd think that was my favorite. I listened to the CD over and over before I finally realized that I loved all the songs and couldn't decide which was THE favorite! It's one of my favorite albums now. Go figure.
