Vote for Jimmy Buffett as Best Live Show

Post by Guest »

Who puts on the greatest live show? The editors at Rolling Stone came up with a list of 100 great live performers who are currently touring or have toured within the last two years. It's your job to select the ONE act who puts on the best live show -- and if you don't see your choice listed, feel free to type it in below.

Click on other, then type "Jimmy Buffett"

My vote is in, as is my wife's & two daughters. Let's muster up and
gather some recognition for our pal who deserves it much more
then 98% of that dumb list. Marilyn Manson? Give me a friggin'
break! AS always, G.M.,Jr.

Rolling Stone Poll

Post by quarterdude »

I just voted, and hope it counts. I think that this poll is skewed to the under 20 year old crowd. I've never even heard of 90% of the listed bands. Oh well, fine wine gets better with age :D

I dunno... I was really leaning toward the " Yeah Yeah Yeahs" or "Flaming Lips" or even "50 Cent" (must be the grandchildren of 1Cent ;) ) - and I even looked for Celine Dion!! :o

In the end, I caved it.. went with that Jimmy guy.

I was wondering the same thing. How could Jimmy not be on there? Now there are some good live bands on there, like U2, Coldplay, James Taylor, and REM. But some of the other artists on there, I just don't get.

An interesting list, that's for sure. On the one hand you have such ARTISTIC GIANTS as 50 Cent and N'Sync. On the other hand, you have people who actually know how to perform for thinking human beings, like Annie Lennox (who is AWESOME in concert, at least back in the days of Eurythmics) and Elvis Costello. With such a dichotomy of what I will generously dub "artistic styles" it's no wonder that Jimmy's not on this list. In other words......ahhhh....that's as catty as I'll get today. What I was REALLY surprised about is that Celine Dion wasn't on this list........

Most of these people could not carry JB's jock strap, must less must a fan base the size of his that shows up every night. Rolling Stone should know better, sounds like more than a Peanut Butter conspiracy.
