Tony Bennett
Mel Torme (if he's still alive...)
Dolly Parton

Elvis Costello (would be interesting, though. I can hear them singing "Accidents Will Happen")

The only two peple I can think of aren't around anymore: the Mavericks and the late, much lamented, Texas Tornados.

If Elvis can get up and do a couple of songs with Ricky Skaggs, of all people, I'd think he would be pretty cool with Bubba.

No doubt. I love Asleep at the Wheel.

Their live version of "Route 66" always reminded me of "You Had to be There"-era Coral Reefer Band.

Have you ever seen them live? They're a blast.

I'm listening to Radio Margaritaville now and Jimmy and Clint Black are doing a duet on Clint's song, "When My Ship Comes In".

Another vote for Mac . . . he kicked singing "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" with Jimmy at Great Woods! Their acoustic duets (especially on "It's My Job') showed how well their voices blend and accentuate the other's stronger skills.

I'm down with anything with a Cajun sound -- a la Louisiane! I can smell the GUMBO now!

Somebody should really tell the Mavericks they no longer exist before they kick off their US tour in Nashville on September 17

Really??? I didn't know that. I was a big fan and they broke up three years ago. Malo was already on to a solo career and the others were with SWAG and Sixpence. I'd given up on them.

Looks like they are back together with a new album and everything. Thanks for the heads up on that. That's the best news I've heard all day.

I remember we saw Jimmy just after Jerry died. He did a three or four song tribute.

It would have been cool to see Jimmy duet with the Dead for a song or two, but not a whole show. He would definetly get lost during a jam or space. It would have been EPIC if Jimmy would have toured with the Dead for a summer and Fall back in the day! How about those tripping Deadheads and intoxicated Parrotheads dancing together as one during a 20 minute version of OPH or Tampico Trauma!!

I can't believe no one has suggested it yet:
What about Jimmy Buffett & Bob Dylan?!
Can't you just hear Dylan's nasal whine now: "Wastin' away in Margaritaville...." ?!
And Jimmy joining him on "All Along the Watchtower" !
"I heard I was in town...."

That was Camden in '95. I'd like to have a copy of him singing "Sugar Mag".
