We've been playing for a little over a year. 48 caches found, 10 travel bugs found along with 10 benchmarks. It is addicting, it also gets us out of the house. BlackBeard94 is the name I use. If you go to the website, I belive that there are several Buffett related caches and Travel Bugs. I have purchased 4 Bugs myself and plan to let them loose soon, all with Jimmy in mind.
As far as playing it is pretty easy, you put in the zip code for the area your in, it then gives you all caches in that area. You look at the one you would like to find, I always print the page. You input the coordinates into your GPS. Follow the directions on the printed page to the starting point and away you go. On the page you will find a terrain and difficulty rating. I recommend a couple of easy ones to start with.
Most GPSs are accurate to about 3 meters, so you will be in the general area. You now have to hunt for the container, could be an ammo can, tupperware bowl or just about anything, but it will be discribed the the directions. The rule is if you take an item, you leave something. You always sign the guest book.
Sometimes the caches are virtual, so by means of just arriving, you have found them, these are generally a great scenic location, landmark or somthing similar. These one ask you to e-mail the owner of the cache with answers to some of the questions asked to verify you were there. After a hard day of caching, with a Margarita by your side you log you finds for the day on the geocaching.com web site.
You can also create and hide your own cache and watch as other people hunt for them.
