Tiki gods made, hurricanes cooling.....

It has been raining in Massachusetts for weeks. I spent the confinement time making my tiki gods. Check them out at:

We will be drinking HURRICANES this year!
We wonder what the chances of Alan Jackson joining Jimmy on stage, or of Jimmy joining Alan at his concert at Mohegan Sun in Sept. We are keeping our fingers crossed to see them perform together at one of the two shows.
Our tiki gods will ward off the soggy weather we endured last year, guaranteed!

Alan is in PA on the 27th and Ontario on the 29th. Nothing scheduled for the 28th or the 30th so it's possible! It would be cool! And if there's any place that Jimmy would want to do it, I would think it would be Great Woods!
Alan Jackson

The only artist we have seen more often than Jimmy is Alan Jackson. So, if they were to appear together, we would be in heaven! Two totally different performers but two great concerts.

I've seen AJ twice. One 5th row center in Atlantic City. He puts on a great show. (Hence his Entertainer of the Year Awards) Not quite as good a show as Buffett, but he is similar in that the music is only one aspect of the show that you see! Seeing AJ come out during "5 o'clock" would be awesome!

Forgive me if you feel this is a stupid question, but is this the venue in Mansfield, MA? Locals may know this stuff, but I am coming from Charlotte, NC, for the Saturday show and need some PH help.

Anybody know of any pre or post-show events in Mansfield? We're staying at the Holiday Inn on the 27th and 28th (we're going to the Thursday show).

Fantasic! OK, here's the deal: never been to Mansfield, need some tips on getting transportation from Boston. The missus and I don't want to drive because A) it's my birthday and I plan to do some partying for my 38th (her 15th) JB concert, 2) she doesn't want to drive, and pi) well... actually, that's enough, there's only 2 of us! Any info would be most graciously appreciated.

Let's see.... It's Thursday August 14th. I suppose I should start thinking of what I'm going to do in two weeks. Hmmmm... I suppose I could do some laundry. Or, maybe I'll go out for a nice lunch. Or I could probably get some grocery shopping done. Well.... Not sure.... Oh wait!! I know!!!
In 2 weeks.... I'll go to GREAT WOODS FOR THE BUFFETT SHOW!!!!!!!
2 WEEKS TILL GREAT WOODS!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, getting from Boston To Mansfield without driving is NOT an easy task. Without taking a taxi (which would be about a $75 ride each way), your only other option is to take the commuter train to Mansfield station ($3.25/person one way) and then take a taxi to Great Woods. This will be easier coming rather than going. The last train back to Boston leaves Mansfield @ 11:55pm (on weekdays, Weekends it's 10:25pm), which will be cutting it kinda close as Jimmy plays right up until 11 and getting out of the parking lot is always an adventure.
You can check out the train schedule at
www.mbta.com and please feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

Honestly there is no good way of getting to Mansfield from Boston without driving. My advice, stop drinking halfway thru the show and you should be fine to leave by 11:30.

My advice: Pass out in the parking lot, enjoy the golf festivities on friday. Pass out in the parking lot. Enjoy buffett again on Saturday. Then ask for a ride back to boston.

It's your birthday, so treat yourself!!
Rent a sedan (not one of those decadent stretch limos!!

) so you can relax and enjoy the festivities. Your wife doesn't want to drive, and you - as birthday boy - shouldn't, so any other complex web of transportation has a HIGH probability of leaving you stranded somewhere!!
Have fun!!!!!!

Thanks for the great idea. I will definitely check into it. Parrot Heads rule!
As for the "stop drinking half way throught the show" I usually do that anyway, but your BAC does not decrease as fast as your buzz. Who wants a DUI on their birthday?!?

Somebody did that last year at GW. I'm looking at the picture right now. They had a Christmas Isle theme going. They had Christmas trees, and a sled you could sit in to have your picture taken. The sled was being pulled by Dolphin (well Dolphin Balloons)
It was a great idea and my girlfriend and I used the picture for our Christmas Cards last year.
