Five O Clock Somewhere Played Tonight at Braves/Expos Game

Post by Gypsy In The Palace »

Imagine my surprise tonight when about an hour before the first pitch, Five O Clock Somewhere starts playing on the Turner Field PA system. It's almost scary how popular this song has become in such a short time.

well actually, i wanted to know if he thought the song was popular because jimmy sings near the end of it, or because it's an alan jackson song.

I don't have an answer, but I must say that I absolutely LOVE this song! I wanted Jimmy to play it twice on Saturday! It just sums up what all of us think every day! Especially on the Monday after a concert weekend! :-?

I guess I was just saying that AJ's promoters know that to get a recording heard, and therefore liked, you have to pay to have it played... at least these days when there's only one radio playlist for each genre.
