More than likely we will still be gathering at Tailgreat before we head to the venue on Saturday. Tailgreat is an event hosted by the Chicago Parrothead club located at a nearby forest preserve. Essentially, it's just a park with picnic tables and a bunch of parrotheads gathering around before the show. They usually cook out and ask for a small donation to cover the cost of food. I have heard that registration is closed, but we are assuming that people can still come, but you might just have to bring your own food.
It's a big enough park for all of us!
I have quite a large phlock coming in from out of town, but I want to meet up with other BNers too. Therefore, if we have a easy-to-get-to/close-to-the-venue spot to meet up at like Tailgreat, hopefully we can get as many phlocks together without missing out on meeting up and having to sacrifice time spent with our own phlocks. The Tweeter Center should start letting people in around 4pm, so we could all caravan over from Tailgreat around then. Here's a link with maps and everything to Tailgreat...

Of course, we can always do something different, but being that there is the potential for so many people to get together, this seems the most practical and fun!!! I'll probably get a big sheet and paint it up with BuffettNews all over it so we can locate each other at Tailgreat...then we won't all be disappointed that we didn't all get to meet (not meat) up!!!

IU something else may be in the works, no freaking donations, just bring beer and booze and food.

Oh this is killing me!!! The excitement and anticipation is going to make me nuts! I'm thinking we should all call in sick for a few weeks and start the party early!! We have a 6 hour drive to get there so we are making it a two day trip just for that.....will be listening to the copy of the Alpine show the whole way down and ready to go by Saturday! Anyone thinking about trying out the hula contest? I actually have contact with one of the band members from the Beach Bum band...I sold him some lawn tickets to the Saturday show....thinking that if I'm not tripping over myself by then, maybe will try it out.......what do we have to lose, getting on stage with Jimmy is just too cool!

Thanks IUP and SirGumby! I can bring beer, booze and food no problem. I'm going to bring my little smoky joe grill too (I'd like to bring the full size Weber but I just don't think I'll have the room).
Finsupnorth -- where are you from in Wisconsin?
I can't wait! Only two more weeks! I'll be making the trip down from WI on Fri. afternoon, hope to check in to the Holiday Inn around 4PM.

I'm from Marshfield......central Wisconsin....there is a thin line between here and hickville

oh well, that is what makes these road trips even more exciting.....getting to the "Big city" and meeting cool people, not all the people around here who say "who is Jimmy Buffett?" Althought, there is a PH club in Stevens Point which we are thinking about joining. Is anyone else a member of a club and if so, what are your thoughts on it?

Hey, What if we all had name tags with our BN username and BUFFETTNEWS on the tag...something a little less tacky than HELLO, MY NAME IS: kind of sticker, but something so we can identify eachother. For those of us who don't know anyone that is........let me know what you think, don't want to be the only one!

We actually did that before! I think Elrod did it for us a couple years ago. I'm not all that talented in the arts or else, I would volunteer to make some...
