Hey gang! I feel horrible. I went to Alpine this year to see JB and didn't pace myself that well and, well, can only remember a few songs. I wait all winter to see Jimmy and was VERY disappointed to next morning when I awoke and my head was all cloudy. The previous JB concerts I was fine, paced myself perfectly. This year, I failed. So, I am wondering if anyone else has ever done this and then maybe I won't feel so damn bad!!!

Oh.... If you only knew... One year at Alpine I drank so much I got lost on the lawn.. and had a big fight with my wife.. The next year I head butted a alpine employee because he wouldn't let me to my seat without my ticket and got thrown out.... Last two years have been great though.. YES, you do have to pace yourself, and stick to one kind of liquor..... I know where your coming from......

Did the same thing for Merriweather this year. I made it through about the first 3rd of the show, then went for a drink. When I got back, I ended up "missing" most of the rest of the show. I felt so guilty about it, the next day I barely drank at all for our annual 4th of July party! However, I did "redeem" myself by learning my lesson and partying with a little more reservation for the Saturday show at Nissan, and had a great time. At least I got a second chance so close to the first.

However, all that said, it's not the first time I haven't remembered a whole concert, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Can anyone answer me why we do this to ourselves?!?!?

I don't think we go into it thinking we are getting stone drunk.. I think that we get so excited about the whole thing that we go a little over board.... Like I said, my key is to drink only beer. And only out of bottles. Cause you drink slower out of a bottle, and if I stay away from the tequila I'm much better....

Yes, it always seems like a great idea a the time! It's just so darn phun; why would you want to stop?! Play today; pay tomorrow

I agree about drinking beer - the problem there is that I've spent a couple of concerts in the bathroom line instead of on the lawn! Guys have it easier, but girls pretty much have to use the bathroom.

I got sooooooo drunk at the Cincy show on 8-17-00 that I have the following semi-true story...

First of all, there was a monsoon brewing throughout the show so bad that the band didn't take a set break. By the time "Pirate Looks at 40" started the skies were very scary, and the final note of the final encore brought the first drop of rain on my nose. "Ooooohhhhh nnnnnoooooooo", I thought to myself because I had by then lost my friends and it was up to me to find the car....Well, to make a long story short I try and take a short cut to the car through some forest and I end up passed out face first in some mud using twigs and leaves to cover myself ( keep in mind its POURING down rain ) just buying some time so I could search for the car. Well, by the time I regain conciousness I find where we parked but there is no car there. "d*m!!", I gave the keys to my friend before the show and they LEFT ME in Cincy!!! I stumble to find me a taxi to Lebos Bar and Grill but when I get there no signs of my friends ( keep in mind its still POURING down rain and I'm COVERED in mud ) so luckily I call my girlfriend at 4:00 in the morning and ask her to come pick me up in Cincy, about an hour & 1/2 from Louisville in a freakin' Typhoon!! She finally gets there at about 6:00 in the morning and needless to say she dumped me soon afterword... Oh yeah, my friends also broke into my place to sleep and drink all of my beer so when I got home the next day my window was open and they were all passed out, needless to say they are not my friends anymore.. But I do remember JB playing "If It All Falls Down" and needless to say, it did.

So yes I have been there before, and I have done things at shows that would probably disgust most people. But now I don't drink and the few shows I have been to without drinking were better than before, try it sometime!!

I sobered up by the beginning of the Jones Beach show last year. It was still a great evening but I have to admit, it wasn't quite as fun. I made up for it this year at Camden, Merriweather, and Southampton! Good times! :pirate:

LOL..now that is funny. six of us watch one another pretty carefully. Thank goodness: security had drawn a bead on one of phriends who's legs gave out at the end, to large for his wife to handle security was gonna step in, another phriend to the rescue saved the day. There is more more but ya know what happens in Irvine, well, stays in Irvine :o :o

The way I avoid getting hammered is being a professional drinker all year round. That way another day of drinking is just another day of drinking......with a awesome concert to attend! LOL
I've never done anything TO stupid at a concert but I do regret getting pretty tanked the year my girl was on stage for the WDWGDAS dance with Heather and Julie and I was on the side stage of Merriweather just staring at the crowd, overwhelmed, and didn't even watch what she was doing! :o

Stayin with one "drink of choice" is very key and having something to eat to soak up the alcohol is very important too.

Last year in Chicago I was pretty bad. I was dissapointed too when I couldnt remember much of the songs the next day. I checked the set list on BN and saw that there were like 20 some odd songs and I could only recall like 5.

We took pictures of just random girls that we thought were hot at the time and when we got the pictures developed we were very surprised, to say the least.

Havent been that bad at any other concerts. I dont plan on getting that bad at another one

Well, as I recall the last few years at Great Woods, the ladies did not have too much trouble dropping-trow and squatting in the woods.

So, if your skirt is really that short, you should not have a problem...unless you are really modest. <g>

Yeah, it happened to me this year at Atlanta. I remeber only 6 or 7 songs. We were at the tailgate at about 9, which in retrospect, not such a great idea. Ended up lost for what seemed like 30 minutes, only to randomly bump into my on-again, off-again girlfriend near the beer stand. The night ended with the horribly embarassing public make-out session, which apparently her old boyfriend's roommate had a front row seat for.

Ahhh, how booze can make everything just a little more spicy....

That's why I always saw both shows in Atlanta......

One to see semi-sober :o and the second to see thru the bottom of a bottle ;)
