Remember where you were on this data?
July 20th, 1969!!!
Man's first landing on the Moon was accomplished at 4:17 p.m. today as the Lunar Module, "Eagle," touched down gently on the Sea of Tranquility on the east side of the Moon. Astronauts Edwin Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were the first men to walk on the Moon.

OK, another place to make me feel old-I spent that summer sitting with my neighbor's daughter who was dealing with a leg injury-I have vivid memories of the landing, and all the fuss leading up to it, and then the other big worry-once they touched down on the moon, would they be able to take back off, and reconnect with the main capsule. It's hard to express it now, but it really was exciting then, and very tense.

I was 13 then

- I remember wondering how it was possible - and looking up at the moon thinking "what will they find??". Never imagined then we'd be sending things to Mars and people on a shuttle!! But me.... Im keeping my feet planted on good ol' planet earth. I'm more of a romantic than an explorer. I still believe there is a "Man in the Moon" and he's winking at me every full moon.

I was 13 at the time. What a great time to be a kid!

All you "negative" age ones missed out on some great real life adventures that we older folk got to witness.

I can't even begin to imagine how those men felt being the first on the moon and looking back at Earth. What a sight...
