A Jimmy "Diet" !!!

Post by Pacinthecage »

I just recently, tonight, got home from vacation. I missed Jimmy so horribly bad I thought it wierd, for maybe a minute. I went on vacation as I do every year, with my sister. We have done this since '96. She is not a parrothead. I found that I missed Jimmy so terribly bad it was horrible. As soon as it was just me and the keets I blasted Jimmy on the CD player and, the keets were real quiet for a minute then, started singing with Jimmy and Bob Marley like they were coming home again too. When have you been forced to be on a Jimmy "diet" and how long did it last? I was at the ocean shore in San Francisco and all I could think of was Jimmy needs to be in the background as he is for all of my experiences. I love being with my sister and her children but, I so missed Jimmy it almost made me sick!!!
When I plugged him in I felt like I was home again.
I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else.

Never leave home with out him.

I have a CD carrier in my car full of all my JB CD's. I very rarely go anywhere (even if just down to the store) without listening to JB on the road. I have found JB to be a great cure for road rage!

I was recently in the hospital for a heart catheter and they played Jimmy for me the whole time I was in the procedure room :D

I have CDs at work, in the car and at home, but I hadn't taken any to the hospital. However they had them there in the cath room. I was pretty petrified until they asked what music I wanted to hear. When they brought on the Buffett music, I felt like this wasn't such a serious thing afterall. Of course it may have been the "something to help you relax" they put in the IV too. :P

I know how you feel I go hunting with my father in the fall for 2-3 weeks and there are few tunes to enjoy, as a cd player or tape player must live on battery power and that is too much a pain. I do keep a couple of tapes in the truck for trips into town or just a drive. but I do always feel better when I get home and light up a favorite cd while unpacking.. :pirate:

Bubba is with me all the time... last year's ankle surgery, Bubba was there. Plane trips across country, Bubba's the pilot. My wife is a newbie; for years, she couldn't stand JB music, but after two GWshows, we've got another convert!! The 'keets are big fans also. Yesterday, I was playing the radio, listening to Red sox/Orioles game when Keet #3 says, "Too much baseball, let's listen to Jimmy Buffett!" Enough said!!!
I made enough money to buy Miami... but I p*** it away so fast...

Well, I guess that's me right now, although kind of self-imposed. I am out of the country. I played Jimmy on my headset on the plane over. I have a compilation tape that I play sometimes when I can't sleep. It starts with my favorite song, "Jimmy Dreams". I fell asleep right away on the plane after I started playing it. When I got here I decided I wanted the experience to be all of the country I am visiting - Egypt. So I have resisted listening to Jimmy. But I think I am at the point where Jimmy will be on the beach with my today. Besides, I am trying to convert our 14 year old niece to ParrotHeadism.
