Police Use Buffett To Slow Speeders
From the Denver Post: "Sign offers drivers quick dose of humor"
An Aurora police officer hopes that keeping motorists laughing will end their need for speed in a 10-block stretch of south Tower Road. An electronic message board on Tower between Hampden and Iliff avenues once urged drives to slow down or it warned about detours around messy construction sites.
And a crowd favorite: "Stop road rage. Play Jimmy Buffett songs in your car."
Patrol officers say they have been clocking vehicles at lower speeds and handing out fewer tickets since the humorous messages began appearing. The reference to Buffett automatically made Pam Jordan envision herself on a beach in Mexico with a cold drink in her hand.

There's a party this Saturday night at Hooters in Lakewood.....the "boys in the band" (our club band) will be playing there. The manager of the place is on these boards too (there's a thread somewhere here on it).CBurton27 wrote:I Work for Aurora Police Dept. Also, my husband (HappyShark here) and I have an annual Labor Day Party. Here's the online invite - www.marquiss.homestead.com/LDOL.html
We'd love to meet (not meat) you at either or both events!!!!! BTW, Happy Shark is a retired deputy from Sarasota, Florida.
