I looked but couldn't find it either. It seemed a lot harder to navigate through the RV section this year and I may have skipped a row or two because it was too packed with people. The BN RV was probably in one of those rows.tryin' to reason wrote:Was it just me, or did anyone else have trouble locating the BN RV??????

Well where do I start?
Thursday morning started meeting NYCPORT at a rest Area of the Mass Pike to transfer the BN bar and 200 pounds of beach sand into his RV then it was off to Great Woods. I did not have Thursday tickets so I knew I would have a hard time driving into Great Woods in my truck so I paid some guy down the street from Great Woods $20 to park on his front lawn and hitched a ride in to Great Woods inside Port’s RV. Once in it was a great time, we had the BN bar and BN flag flying all set up with 15 minutes we ended up right in front of the Jose Curavo sponsored party, they gave all of us wrist bands so we had free food and booze all day
. I mentioned to a few people that I did not have tickets for Thursday and Bob (AKA TinCupChalis) told me he most likely could get tickets and would be right back, soon enough he came back with 2 lawn tickets, I told him I would pay whatever he wanted which ended up being at or slightly BELOW face value………. It was a relief to know that I would actually be going into the show. I finally got to meet Mr. and Mrs. Bixx and did there famous syringe and ice luge shots, I hung out with Key Lime Lee for a little while and visited they Key Lime Café with John (with his "Pet the Parrot" bit
) , Ragtop, Parrotsgirl, Karin, Curavo and John2266 who I had not seen since Vegas 2002. Kitty was a GW virgin but no one took it easy on her, still she was as fun as always. The show itself was so so not his best night but still a great time. I hung out on the lawn with John2266 for the show with a few other friends.
Friday, Red Sox beat the Yankees and I was there so it was a great night! I didn’t see Saturday’s or Sunday’s games so I couldn’t tell you who won!
Saturday! I had Saturday tickets but Because it went so well on Thursday I decided to pay the same guy $20 to park on his lawn and drive in inside Port’s RV again, making it easier to find my truck after the show. We drove into Great Woods at 10:50AM and were one of the first 10 or so RV’s in, we were setup by 11:15. The Bixx’s were right across from us and I did the shots again. I meet CANADIANPARROTHEAD and shared a shot with him (not sure what we drank though)
also met Santa and spent some time at his bar, The Bald Parrot, stopped by for a quick hello to SDPirate40. Karin, Ragtop, Parrotsgirl, Curavo and her daughter BFC, St. Somewhere and John2266 were at the BN RV most of the day. I know I am leaving a few people out but once I get my film developed the weekend will become more clearer. As it turned out I ended up with 2 extra pavilion tickets for the Saturday show and sold them for face $75.00ea. to a fellow BNers friend. The show Saturday was far better than Thursday and of course Jimmy, as he does every year at Great Woods commented that the parking lot there is very best on his tour. I am happy to say Curavo was there both days and there we no problems to blame on him so maybe it really isn’t all Curavo fault after all
even the weather turned out nice on both days!!!
Last but not least there was a visit to the BN RV section by PHJim. I am fairly certain I got a picture of him, NYCPORT and me in front of the BN bar, if so I will post it when I get the film back.
Only regrets was not meeting the other BNers who were there but couldn’t find the RV. The flag was flying high both days and the BN bar was in full view and most of us had out BN nametags on.
Found this picture on the photo gallery page, this is part of what makes Great Woods so great. In the back ground you can see the BuffettNews Flag!

My brief conversation with PHJim went like this:
ME: Jim did you ever think you would see the day when you started this site you would see Buffettnews.com Nametags, Flags and Bars?
He checks out the nametags, flag and bar and after a 10 second pause says ……… “You guys are a little extreme with this stuff.”
ME: Aggghhh Yup!

I'll tell ya what I can remember...
Drove Saturday from outside Philly to Worcester and got on a bus there with some friends. We got into the bus section at about 3:00 and landed right in the middle of it all. We were in one of those areas that was almost impossible to walk through so we just dropped our coolers and started handing out beads, leis and pineapple chunks soaked in Parrot Bay.
The busses around us had DJs and blasting sound systems. They didn't play much Buffett but they got people dancing so the whole area really drew a crowd.
I met a lot of very nice people close by who offered to share everything from shots to the use of their grill. Couldn't have been any friendlier.
I saw Cuervo and Karen from the bus as we were driving in, and saw Cuervo again later in the parking lot. I finally found the BN location at about 7:30, just as it was closing up. I'm sorry I didn't get there earlier to say hello to the whole crew.
The show was awesome, a great set list. And from what I could tell, Jimmy was enjoying himself.
Can we do that at Fenway next year?

i was one who complained about the set list on thurs but we were very pleased with the enthusiasm and the list on sat we were psyched our seats were at the edge of the pavillion, last row so we had noone to step over or threw noone to tell us to sit down once i told the ticket natzi roaming the walkway between covered and incovered pavillion that she reminded me of my mother, she took great care of us we had a better spot in the rv section on sat more room more shade watched the stupid human trick in the jumpy across from us, neighboors had plenty of goodies met many bners and were close tot he Ports was so psyched a frined offered to drive home before the show so i could ingest as many jelo shots and rum pineappleas as i could on the way in did anyone notice the seaplane that went over 1/2 hour after the show, heading towards the cape? most of the paint on the rv has washed off, the red doesnt seem to want to come off so we may be left with parrothead in new hampshire there was abit more lewdness and rudeness in general but our neighboorhood was very fun and very friendly see you all next year
if anyone recognizes themselves in the pix i posted and yes linda it seema s though joe found his way into alot, let me know and i'll get you more ours are in the tailgate section of the gallery and cocnsit mostly of luging and syringing

We arrived at the parking lot at around 9:45 and were surprised at how many people were already there (we're usualy one of the first to arrive at Camden).
Shared plenty of food and drink and met a lot of great people, but couldn't seem to locate the BN Flag (though I must have walked by it several times throughout the day... how could I've missed it?).
The parking lot was crazy! None of the venues (ie. Camden, Nissan, Post-Gazzette) I've been to can compare themselves to the tailgate at GW. It was simply amazing. Poeple spend a lot of time and money getting ready for this show!
The day got better when I found out I had tickets 20 rows from the stage! I have never been this close at any concert and it was great to see Jimmy up-close.
The set-list was awesome and the entore band seemed to have more enegery then at the Camden show earlier this year (but that could be becuase I could actually see their energy!)
It was a great day, and I hope that I can make the trip up tp GW again to see Jimmy !!!

Okay, here's my attempt to discribe our experience of unadultered debauchery that is Labor Day Weekend at Great Woods. The Mrs. and I planned on a mellow Thursday as keets & work didn't allow us to stay straight through to Saturday. Stopped by the BN RV and spent some time with the always hospitable NYCPORTS who allowed us to check in on the keets from the luxury of their home on wheels. (Tried to get KARIN to buy that drink she owes me but she bolted as soon as she saw us coming). I was happy to be able to put faces to some screen names thanks to the name tags everyone was wearing. Great idea. Had a nice chat with TIN CUP CHALICE and spent a few moments with SCHOOL GIRL HEART. Saw KITTY preparing what looked to be one hell of a meal. Then went to meet up with some fellow upstate New Yorkers and that's where we deviated from the game plan. The beer flowed way too easy and too often. I thought the show was great.....and the mix of tunes just what the doctor ordered. Spent an hour getting out of the parking lot and was sleeping comfortably by 3:30 am (Ouch). Not much work done on Friday.
Saturday found us on the road at 9am with two virgins without tickets in tow. Mrs. Clairebert was working two cell phones checking on bids to e-bay, last minute tries with ticketmaster, and KARIN to see if we could score tickets, all with the added pressure of bees in the SUV that had decided to come along for the ride tucked away in our umbrella. Hooked up with CANADIAN PARROTHEAD and his lovely (and expecting) bride at the hotel who had made contact with the great people of the Maine Parrothead Club and voila, the virgins didn't need to hide under the barbeque grill to get into the parking lot. THANKS AGAIN MAINE PARROTHEAD CLUB. And that's where it started for real.
CP wanted to stop by the BN RV so we headed there. Don't have time or clearance to mention everything we saw but highlights of the trip include the Breast Meter, putting with a putter head that was anatomically correct, and the Mardi Gras type tradition of "beads for breasts". Got harrassed for drinking Coors Light (CP's Moosehead would come later) by KARIN and BOR as they shared a shot with me. Had the pleasure of a brief conversation with PHJIM and was invited by BIXX and his lovely bride to partake in syringe (?) bobbing. The advice of "treat it like a lady" was right on target. Chatted breifly with Cuervo and friends as Tina Gulickson rode by in a golf cart. Didn't see her up close......Damn!!!! More beer, more food, dancing in the RV section and it was time for the show. Thought it was great as well and was surprised by how much different the set was. Personal highlight was "The wino and I know." Virgins are still trying to catch their breath from the days events and appear to be fully converted. See y'all next year.

Great Woods 2003 was amazing!
I had a great time seeing the BN crew who I hadn't seen since Vegas 2002. Bottle of Rum did a great job constructing the bar and we had several interesting visitors to the bar. The CarrotCake shots were tasty as well. The Ports, Mr. and Mrs. did a great job of hosting all of us lushes. I had a great time and find myself being sad that I won't see all of you for a while. I think Jimmy needs to come back to Boston soon so all of us can get together again. (I don't have the vacation time or cash to go to Irvine or San Diego but have fun RAGTOP and company.) I just got back from Nantucket and I didn't see Jimmy there. What a bummer. Every store or restaurant I went into I looked for him. I did a double take towards every guy wearing a hat and sunglasses and cargo shorts. My neck hurts today! I even had a dream last night that I ran into Jimmy on the island and discussed the meaning of life with him over a Red Stripe and then I asked where Savannah was. The dream ended abruptly. I wish I would have known where that was going and what it all meant. Well that about sums up my Labor Day weekend! The shows, all three since I saw Mac too, were amazing. I get goose bumps sometimes thinking about how good their music is. Can't wait to see all of you again soon!
John.
P.S. I want pictures so email me!

Ragtop,
I do not remember if you stopped by my rig in Boston. It was a rented black Suburban with California plates "placed" on the SUV that said PIRET40 and "San Diego to Boston" written on the windows.
I am based in San Diego, and will be at both the San Diego and Irvine shows. Please stop by for a drink and say hello!
Please look for a white 2003 Mercedes SL500 convertible with those PIRET40 California plates. Let's compare Great Woods stories and share a cocktail!
