Sangria Wine Recipe

Post by 12vmanRick »

4 cups dry red table wine
2/3 cup orange juice (no pulp is what I use)
1/4 cup lime juice (RealLime works fine)
1/2 cup sugar
12 oz of Tropical Liquer
8 oz Pinneaple Liquer
3 or more shots of Everclear or Vodka
8 oz of Tropical or Regular Sprite
1/2 Orange
1/2 Granny Smith Apple
1/2 Pear
1/2 Mango

Cut fruit into pieces. Add all ingredients and refrigerate overnight. Serve over ice and garnish with lime wedge.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

Well I am not a big wine drinker but this stuff is sweet and good. It sneaks up on ya too. For a second opinion ask ngaparrothead he tried this exact recipe at my house. I am planning on doing a Halloween version at a party my wife and I are planning right now. Basically I am going to used peeled grapes as the fruit to make it look like eyeballs and have some glow-in-the-dark icecubes too.

And you can call it "Sangria Brew" (as in witch's brew). :P

Anyway, yes that sangia wine if mighty fine. It definitely can sneak up on you. Especially when Rick is making it. The key to the whole thing (IMHO) is to let it sit overnight. You just don't get the same flavor otherwise, which is why so many of the restaurants don't get even close to the real deal.

Sangria Wine

Jerry Jeff Walker

When friends come for Saturday night
It's nice to make up some Sangria wine
It's organic and it comes from the vine
It's also legal and it gets you so high
Yeah I love that Sangria wine
When I'm drinking with old friends of mine
Yeah I love that Sangria wine
When I'm drinking with old friends of mine

CHORUS:
Whoa oh oh Woah oh oh I love Sangria wine
Whoa oh oh Woah oh oh I love Sangria wine

Start with some wine
Get some apples and brandy and sugar just fine
Old friends always show up on time
That's why you add Sparkling Burgandy wine

CHORUS

In Texas on a Saturday night
Everclear is added to the wine sometimes
Some nachos, burritos and tacos
Who knows how it usually goes, it goes

CHORUS

Yeah I love that Sangria wine
Just like I love old friends of mine
They tell the truth when they're mixed with the wine
That's why I blend in the lemons and limes

I do believe that would be the song! I first heard it sung by Jim Morris.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.
