At the risk of getting blasted by phellow phans:

I know Jimmy's a good person, in fact, a great person and very loyal to his fans. He's my hero, for crying out loud. But, did anyone ever wonder if there's any connection between the poor RM audio last night and the recordings going on sale?

If I can record the show myself off of RM and trade it with phriends, there is less demand for a "paid for" recording at $18.95.

I'm CERTAIN Jimmy wouldn't do that (but some bozo in a boardroom might try it), but it's just a thought!

Here's to clear connections the rest of the way!!!!

My thought as well.

Last night, on RM, Steve said it was the worst connection they had ever had, and that they would try it but thought they might just have to pull out an old recording, as they did.

But duringthe previous leg of the tour none of the six concerts were a clean broadcast.

Maybe they don't want anyone to know the set lists so we have to buy all 6 CDs.

It sounds sad, but maybe it's true. It was my first thought as well.

I am witholding judgement until after I see if the next five shows have strong conncections. If they have poor connections, I will get mighty suspicious. Otherwise, I will chalk this up as a bad connection.

Even if I had the rm recordings of the shows I would still buy all 6 live shows-if for no other reason than to support the man

No connection between the two...if he wanted he could just pull the plug on all RM live feeds. Why mess around and blame it on a bad connection.

Right. You have to keep in mind, the phone lines in this country have not kept up with the digital expansion. Some parts of the country, okay most, are still using copperl which are highly effected by many factors including weather. At my job we use a trunk radio system that is 1990's technology. But the information and radio transmissions are relayed through the phone lines which are 1890's technolgy. Problems in the field such as scratchy radios, transmitor failures etc., are not uncommon in a 3 million dollar system. I won't get into the television standards that were great for the 40's but were outdated in the 50's.

Castro is still playing in Cuba, but the homefield advantage isn't what it used to be.

Well it was a great feed for tonight's show in Vancouver with only a couple cutouts. For some reason RM didn't play the final song, Steve just played the album track Changing Channels, might have something to do with the CD's that are being sold.

Yes we were flabergasted so say the least. What a great way to end the show. I pre ordered the show from amizon two weeks ago and now can't wait til it gets here. supposed to be ready to ship on Oct. 7th.

I very rarely get upset, but that really left a sour taste in my mouth! I stayed up until nearly 1 AM listening to this even though I had to get up at 7:15 this morning and to have the concert just abruptly end like that upset me. :(

What bothered me even more was Steve's explanation. He said something along the lines of "In order to make the show downloadable, we just can't do it. It's more work than three or four people can handle." Then, about thrity seconds later, he said, "I'm going to turn the feed down now." I'm certainly not an expert at Internet radio, but if there weren't enough people to keep the broadcast going, shouldn't the feed have gone away without him having to turn it down? :-?

Anyone catch the broadcast on RM for Las Vegas? Was wondering if the quality was poor as descibed about Seattle.
