Tuesday night in San Diego was my first Buffett show and first time I bought tix (or anything) on ebay. I won 2 seperate auctions and got 4 tickets for $60 total, including shipping. I thought it was too good to be true, because the face value alone was $280 for those 4. I got the tix in the mail and was little concerned because they were etickets, but the ebay seller had such a positive feedback rating with over 300 responses I felt ok about it.
We got to the show to meet friends and party some. I sold 2 of the etickets to friends of friends and did not see them again. My friend with a ticket right next to mine got in ok, but was not really paying attention when they scanned his ticket. When they did mine the reader said 'refund'. The tried other other readers, but got the same result. I tried to talk my way in, but no luck, they made me leave. Security said to check with will call because the puchaser called in the tix for a refund.
Well, so many people were still trying to get in, I just tried a different line. I almost got through without having my ticket scannned, but at the last moment a guy without a scanner grabbed it. He just tore off one of the barcodes and I quickly walked away before he could pass it on to someone else. I got to the seats, but someone else was there so we just found some open ones nearby. Later on I snuck down to some open seats right next to the soundboard.
I can't really complain because I got in for cheap and had some great seats for awhile, but it was a hassle. What do you think?

I am still exchanging emails with the seller to get his side. So far he says that he had over 30 tickets of the same kind for friends that were fine. He was at the show with similar tickets that were ok also.ngaparrothead wrote:I'm with ya, NYC!![]()
That's the first I've heard about someone calling in a refund after selling the tickets. How much lower can you get?Did you put in a negative review about that seller on ebay?
It still sounds shadey. I don't want to rip him on ebay until I am sure something was funky, which might be soon.
