Jimmy's loss
Our prayers and heartfelt sorrow go out to Jimmy and the entire family. We lost my husbands beloved Grandmother last Saturday just as the show in Vegas was getting underway. We were in attendance and we truly believe she was there with us. May the memories of your mother always be with you and get you through.
Growing older but not up!!!!!

Heartfelt sympathy for you and yours.
I am so saddened with the news of Mrs. Buffett's passing. I lost my mother 3 years ago. It was extremely difficult; I miss her still today. Jimmy, I am 2 months and 10 days older than you. I, too, am a writer, and also worked for a newspaper for many years.
A consumate baby boomer, I so enjoy seeing the world through the imaginative twinkle of your eye. You have shared your gifts with an audience which spans generations, education and social positioning, and we all embrace you and your essence.
At this time of sorrow, we feel your pain as deeply as we have felt your joy during happier times. I hope you will soon feel at peace with your mother's passing, knowing she is sailing towards a new beginning where she will be filled with the abundant love of those who have gone before her as well as those she has left behind. It's a journey we will all make one day.
We all have our individual concepts with regards to the religious aspects of our mortality. Personally, I wonder and hope for a "holy" Margaritaville in the heavens; angels wearing flip flops; the Coral Reefers with harps in their hands. Boats scrubbed and polished to a shine are docked at the pearly gates awaiting their commission to pick up another group of parrotheads. Inside the gates, some folks are dressed in Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts, and others are clad in in sweat-stained Bogart suits! Most are wearing leis, and all are wearing smiles. One day I'll share a drink with you there. I'll even buy.
I know your parents were very proud of you. They had much to be proud of. I know you were a good son. You're also a good man with a big heart. The love your parents gave to you will continue to carry you forward. That love never goes away. You will always feel its presence, as you pass it on to your children, who will in turn, pass it on to their children. . . .
May your entire family draw strength and love from each other, and find the peace that only family can give. My thoughts are with all of you.
