Buffett Songs to help get over a breakup
Maybe this one has been done before, but in this case it's tricky.
Buffett music transports you to a happier place. That's what I need. Yet...at the same time...so many mainstream Buffett songs remind me of concert memories with the person that's just broken up with me. Maybe there's some obscure songs by Jimmy that I haven't heard that will help. Any suggestions? They don't have to be slow sappy songs...just something to transport me away...or have a message...
(along those lines...any good non-Buffett songs help too!)
If the phone doesn't ring...
Distantly in love...
Smart woman in a real short skirt...
Tryin' to reason with the hurricane season...
Jimmy and Frank: Mac the Knife
Morning has broken: Cat Stevens
One less set of footsteps: Jim Croce
Shut Down: The Beach Boys
Any more?

There was a song by a local band called Kicking Harold that helped me get over a guy. It was called "Down on You" and it was truly a mean song. One of the lines is - You said you'd die for me, I wish you would. It actually made me laugh, it was so horrible, and laughing made the breakup easier than 'The Way We Were' that I had been listening to! Good luck!

What about Changes in Lattitude Changes in Attitude?
The best line that has always helped me out has been
"Yesterday's over my shoulder, I can't look back there to long, There is to much to see waiting in front of me and I know that I just can't go wrong"
Send in the Clowns by Sinatra and Sounds of Silence by Simon and Garfunkle are also good ones.

My suggestions would be playing Lovely Cruise, which will get you in the "Yes it was fun, but now it's over" mood. Then throw on Landfall (this will be easy, because they're on the same CD). Landfall takes me away to a different place everytime I hear it. Imagine being someplace wonderful with the thought of never having to go back? Plus it has my favorite all time JB line.
And remember, there's always something better that will come along. You just have to believe. Good luck - I hope it all works out for you.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd get myself drunk and I'd jump right back in!
"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day." - Frank Sinatra
