What do you consider to be the 'must-have' or essentials in a collection of Jimmy Buffett music? Advice for building a great collection is always appreciated!

I voted for 'most of the CDs/records and a few choice concerts.' But now that I look around my house, I think it's 'Everything I can find.' :P

I went for everything I can find, though I still don't have every CD yet. I just started collecting records. Got CILCIA and Coco Tele. Looking to increase that collection, hopefully one day have them all.

I'm in anything and everything mode, with a long way to go yet.

I have a bunch of old lp's, plus newer cd's, released compilations, homemade compilations, concert recordings, etc.

My "must have" is the DVD, the 1st of which will be in hand 2 weeks from tomorrow.

IT'S ALL GOOD!

Although I've been a fan since college, I haven't collected much other than CD's and tons of pictures from all the concerts. :D 8) Oh, and plenty of tailgating equipment, too.

I went with the fourth choice. I have all of the CDs and probably should get more stuff, but I just have to find room to put it all. :D

I voted for EVERYTHING.....

I have two music goals regarding Jimmy.

1. Everything in every available format from LP, 8-track, etc.

2. Find original LP's of the two Barnaby Records releases, not the re-releases, original. This one will have to wait awhile $$$$$$$.

Note: Saturday I listened to the Changes in.... of Jimmy's career by listening to "You Had to Be There", "Feeding Frenzy" and "Tues. Thurs, Sat" in succession. VEERRRY INTERESTING

I chose choice #2. Why, because lately, I have become quite aggravated with greatest hits discs, and its not just with Jimmy. Like I said in other forums, my dad began collecting JB albums on CD starting with SYKBH and skipped over Hot Water and BBB&B. He took a shortcut with the WSCPC-LMIP material. I have enjoyed both SYKBH and MMIM until recently when I started the collecting all the albums on CD that came before my dad began buying. I GET DOUBLES OF SONGS! ARGGHHH! When I got MMIM I got really mad at myself for not knowing about all these great songs that have been out for years that I have not heard before. It should be the other way around (hear the song on the album first and then relive it on the compilations). I can’t say MMIM is not essential, though, because of the exclusive tracks. Each one is great.

But man, this is bugging me. I don’t want my family thinking I am buying something we already have!

And another thing that is really stupid: The Down to Earth/High Cumberland Jubilee compilations!!! WHY ARE THERE SO MANY?
