Ok, the answer is a house number. The cost was $4.50 per number. Therefore, the number 2 (1 digit) was $4.50. Number 50 (2 digits @ $4.50 each) cost $9.00. 144 (3 digits @ $4.50 each) cost $13.50. Sorry about the stumper folks.
