Another Borders is closing (as is the entire franchise) so that means some halfway decent deals are available if you know what to look for. For instance, a lot of their CDs go for around $18.99 so even at 30% off that's not really a very good deal. I found these at budget prices (and one at 50% off) so they were worth it.

A used copy of Alice Cooper's Muscle of Love on vinyl with all of the original packaging still intact. I bought this new back when it first came out in 1973 but for some reason I threw away the cardboard box it came packaged in and used the book cover that also came with it (silly me). That left me with a record sleeve and the album itself, neither of which have stood up too well over the years.



I remember catching some s*** from a friend when I first bought this on vinyl back in '76. All because I told him I was tore between John Prine's Common Sense and Free-For-All. Despite my love and appreciation for all things Prine, all these years later I still think I made the right decision. Sometimes a body just needs to rock and to this day, I still don't own Common Sense (I need to fix that).

Really, really enjoying them all.

Biographies were 50% off so I snatched this one up (last copy on the shelves). I've heard and read nothing but good things about it so I can't wait to dig in.

More finds from Borders' going out of business sale. I'm sure there's probably better Thin Lizzy compilations out there than this one from the Icon​ series but considering I have no Thin Lizzy and this was around $3 it was kinda hard to pass up.

Also noticed the expanded edition of Southern Culture on the Skids' Zombified had already hit store shelves (at least at my local record store). I guess they jumped the gun as it's actual official release date is not until this Tuesday (9.27.11.) Since the new Wilco album release is just a few days away, I held off on the SCOTS for now but did pick up these two which were both sale priced, making it much easier to talk myself right into it:
