Buffett and Jackson Win CMA Award!!!

Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson won the CMA Award for "Vocal Event of the Year" for the song "It's Five O'clock Somewhere". This is the first major award for music that Buffett has ever won.

"It looks like a rocket ship. Wow, thank you Jane Buffett for putting up with me for all of these years, and thank you Alan Jackson, I'm glad I could help your struggling career. It was about 31 years ago that I came to this town to pursue my musical madness, and I've never won anything for anything, and it's great to do it here. Thank you Don Light, Bill Williams, and Buzz Cason and Alan Jackson" -- Jimmy Buffett (from his CMA award acceptance speech)

FANTASTIC. I am estatic!!!!! No one deserves this award more than anyone but Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson. This award is Long overdue. Thanks to Alan Jackson for taking a step back and letting Jimmy bask in the spotlight!!!

I can't believe it.......Jimmy looked shocked :o . Kinda wish he would have thanked the Parrotheads though :cry:

Still a great night all around, got to see Jimmy perform in primetime on national TV, win an award and didn't have to endur a whole night of country music waiting for Jimmy.
