I'm not real big on Christmas for some reason, at least not the decorating part (although Zanth throws a real good tree trimming party). The past few years, I had no tree at all. Before that, the tree was fake. HOWEVER... my wife-to-be is real big on Christmas decorations, and loathes artficial trees. So, I guess I better get used to the idea of having a real tree in the house.

I knew you were talking about trees, as soon as I saw the title of the thread

I gotta go with fake. I hate picking up those needles from the real ones

We always have fake - no real ones in Australia. It is too hot at Christmas for real ones.
Not sure if we are having one where I am spending christmas tho!

Real Did the whole Griswald Family trek and froze our tails off hiking up and down hills till we found the perfect tree. It was like a freakin Norman Rockwell painting

We had fake ones for YEARS because of allergies. Once they were outgrown OUT went the fake tree.
So now we use a real live dead one.

hmmmmm interesting points........growing up we ALWAYS had the real thing.....always way too big and tall and a foot had to be cut off to fit it in the house. Then I married Happy Shark who ALWAYS had fake ones......so for the first 12 years of our marriage, we had fake. When we moved to Colorado the fake tree found it's way to the dumpster and we've had real ever since (7 years). Well, I must becoming an old fart 'cuz now I want a fake one....the real ones are a big ole hassle....I'm always fretting about fires, the cat keeps drinking all the water out of it (not to mention sleeping in it). There are some really kewl ones out now....they even come with the lights already!!! So, there ya have it

All my body parts: REAL, baby!
My tree: FAKE. I grew up buying a fresh "real" one, and continued to so up til a few years ago when my parents gave us their fake one. It's green, and slides in and out of the box when it's time to put it up/take it down. With big dogs and a small house, there's always at least one mishap as it is (usually a wagging tail takes down an ornament), but at least I don't have to worry about the water getting splashed. I miss the pretty smell of a real tree, but I make up for by having lots of scented candles around.

Grew up with real trees, but since moving to the Gulf Coast and acquiring more allergies than I knew existed, since we have been married, we have a artificial tree.
I do love the smell of a real tree, but I also like to breathe.

I grew up with one of those 50's silver aluminum trees....I gotta go real until I'm done repenting for the "Metal Monster"

We've gone back and forth depending on my mood and some years we skipped it all together. After selling trees and flocking them for years they have lost their magic
