My girlfriend and I stayed there in September of 2002. It is a great resort. We got there when hurricane Isabel was 250 miles off the coast. We had a package that included a sunset cruise and breakfast daily. Due to the storm we could not go out on the sail. So the hotel gave us a hundred dollar food credit. The staff was probably the most friendly and helpful of any place I have ever stayed. They did everything they could to make our stay absolutely wonderful. It has a beautiful setting, although you can not see the ocean from the rooms. Our room was overlooking the pool. We had a large balcony with a table and chairs. We ate the Palm Haven restaurant. The food was very good but a little pricey (we used our whole $100 food credit there). The pool area was very nice and there was plenty of beach chairs for all. We did not try out the beach club because the beach was covered with seaweed. That was the only disappointing part of our whole trip. I would defiantly recommend this resort to anyone.
I was in Key West last spring. Although I didn't stay at the Grand Key, I did walk through the pool area and it was quite nice. Lots of very comfortable pool chairs. We stayed at the Ocean Key resort that I very highly recommend. The pool there is also very nice and has an excellent view of the ocean. I don't think you can go wrong with either of those two places. Wish I could be there too - have fun!
I believe our package was around 425.00 for two nights and three days at the hotel. Our airfare was extra. We live in Ohio and flew to Ft. Lauderdale and drove from there.
