San Jose Show Pre-Party
I'd like to pose a question to the plethera of Bay Area parrotheads planning on attending the Jan 20 show:
Are we going to rally and pre-party PH-style in the parking lot of the Shark Tank in the cold/night/rain like true die-hards, or is there some kind of ParrotHeadQuarters being arranged at a bar/restaraunt downtown?
Let's hear your thoughts and be sure to make up for the lost Mtn. View Show with true PH pre-party style!!!

I haven't been to a concert at HP Pavilion. Is there usually a tailgate for the JB concerts? And where do most ph's stay - which motel? I gotta know because I just got my tickets and I am so F**KIN' stoked!!! Any info is greatly appreciated.
If I had it to do all over again, I'd get myself drunk and I'd jump right back in!

That is a great rate for the Fairmont, and it's a perfect location. I think tailgaiting may be better reserved for the next shoreline show. There is a great bar in downtown SJ called Tres Gringos that makes a stern margarita. www.tresgringossj.com. This may be a great option for pre-party.

He Poolboy, we are section 122, I guess it will be a replay of the Shoreline show. The best thing will be that we are at Club Level
so the lines for boat drinks will be very short. Plus they tend to
spike the drinks!

the Hotel De Anza is at $149 and that is probably my favorite in the Downtown area. www.hoteldeanza.com

Hey All!
Having never been to this arena, are there bad seats? I tried to get some tix at lunch, but all they were offering me were seats behind the stage?? Is this show "in the round"? I assume this is a continuation of "tiki time", and I remember that set-up as having a backdrop, so i don't think that is possible here. Please advise.

Hey T-man! No the show is not in the round, but in 2001 Jimmy went to a small stage behind the stage and sang several songs to "the indoor lawn" as he calls it. Just Jimmy tho, the band staed out front.Travelin'man wrote:Hey All!Having never been to this arena, are there bad seats? Personally, I would avoid getting seats behind the stage. You can get pretty reasonable seats on ebay or www.craigslist.com.

Hey jeepgirl, not to get off the subject, but how was your stay in Morro Bay a few weekends ago? I hope you got my message regarding restaurants and bars.jeepgirl wrote:tph, where ARE your seats??
Besides that, I'm leaning towards staying at the Arena. It looks like it will be a short stagger back after the concert. I'm also in Section 104, Row 19, Seats 6 and 7. Also, am I hearing this right that there is no tailgate? Bummer!!

Hi Barefootpirate, we had a great time. Let's see we had lunch at the Flying Dutchman, on Friday went to Otter Rock for some cocktails. Than on Sat. was the Christmas Parade on the water. We had front row seats at the Wine Shop and met a couple of Parrotheads who are going to the San Jose show also. The owner of the Wine shop John, is also a parrothead he had the Deli in Santa Clara called JollyMon's

Where to Prepare
Hi all, just wondering if anyone had the inside scoop on where to get ready to see JB. Last year at Shoreline partying in the parking lot was just a bit tricky but we could do it. Is the pavillion the same way, or should I plan on being indoors before the show? Any suggestions on where to go before things get going if the parking lot is a no go (preferably a place where a guy can wear a hula skirt). Also is there a place that people will likely end up after the show? See everyone on the 20th
Give me oysters and beer for dinner every night of the year

UPS just dropped my tickets at the front door. Looks like it's official now! I'm so happy that the cancelled show is going to happen, but I remember that the accoustics at this venue are far from good. There's nothing like a JB outdoor show! BUT .... who am I to complain. I've got tix to good seats at a JB concert next month, and life doesn't get much better that that!
BTW, RWM .... double Patron margs?? Such class!!

I'm trying to convince him to wear a grass skirt but no luck so far, hehe. I guess I have a month to work on him........
Well, I've got my BN name tag.....had it for the Vancouver, WA show and the only BNer I met (which was actually planned) was tgr8one........so I'm really looking forward to meeting more of y'all down there!! Happy holidays everyone!!!
