Some businesses do give you the day off. The PO, courts, schools and banks are closed.
My office "moves" this holiday every year so we can have a longer x-mas. This year we got x-mas eve of in lue of MLK.

Hi everyone. I've been gone for awhile - my computer at home crashed (lost everything) and I've been off work for a couple weeks over the holidays so I couldn't access my work computer. Actually, the earthquake (San Simeon earthquake) ruined my office building. I found out today that the building has to be demolished. I'm sure you all saw it if you saw the footage. My office is (was) on the second floor of the building next to the building in Paso Robles that collapsed. I also would have lost my Cherokee (yes I know jeepgirl, it's really not a "jeep", but it's close 
). I park it right where all those other cars were smashed. Lucky for me I took those two weeks off or I would have had the ride of my life. It was bad enough in Morro Bay. But I digress.
You can count me in for the San Jose concert. CAN'T F**KIN' WAIT!!!!! I'm also staying at the Arena and there will be two of us, so you can add us to the party list. We'll be arriving Tuesday around 12 or 1 to scope out the place. I hope to get to meet some of you. See you there!!!
