Here you can discuss any Buffett related topic.

Do you think that Jimmy actually reads these????

Post by Parrotnoid »

This thread probably has been done a ba-zillion times.... BUT, I do wonder..... Does Jimmy ever actually reads any of these posts? AND do you think that if he does, that he actually posts back????? Does anyone here actually know him....????? OR~~touched the hem of his garment?????

Since I have never started a thread before, this is a question that has bothered me so.....

What do other phanantics think in this regard?

My guess... doubtful.

But, I hope that he does. Shoot, maybe he is just a figment of my imagination!!!!

I hope that someone replys... as I will feel so stupid for wondering... BUT. haven't you ever wondered?????

Yea I've wondered. And since this is one of the top Buffett sites on the net I am sure he's probably been on here before, just looking. And I bet he comes back sometimes to see what all us crazies talk about  . I doubt he's ever posted though

I imagine that he occasionally checks in here, but I doubt he ever posts. I also would bet that his people probably check here regularly. I bet he probably thinks we need to get a life!

As for your question about if anyone has touched the hem of his garment, several people here have. AMC, who replied right above me in this thread, caught his wristband at the Dallas show last April. Phaw Webminstress shook his hand before the Denver show last year. NYCparrothead talked to him on the phone at the Today Show last July. And, I know there are several others here who have met him, but that's all I can think of now.

Hi ya all....

I couldn't sleep, (Oregon time... 3 AM and ticking) so I went immediately to my laptop....(yes, new addiction is right on schedule...)

I agree with "gypsy" that he probably thinks we all need to get a life....

Well, I am new to your group so rather than wear out my welcome, I will close for now and just read....

You know... things could be a lot worse.. I could be addicted to p*** sites, gambling, etc.... instead, I lurked here for months before I got the courage to write.... kinda like the kid that wouldn't talk and then wouldn;t shut up....

Goodness, I love the man, the music, the lifestyle....

I wonder if sleep will come back to me tonight... I guess the East Coast has already woke up.....

back to my surfing.........................................

Okay.. so I didn't go back to surfing or back to bed.....

This is something that Island Hopper sent to me and it is just the kewlest story.... at least, I thought so...... here's her own words:

"Did you make it to the Portland show last year? Well my friend and I did the costume contest and she wound up winning with a lady from Canada and got to be on stage with them for the Hokey Pokey! Was AWESOME!! Her costume was a parrot with a Jimmy doll on her shoulder......she took a Ken doll and plucked out his top hairs, put a moustache on his face and dressed him in Hawaiian-type clothes!! Jimmy loved it so much that he actually wanted it! During one of the songs later in the show he had a camera on him that was being displayed on the screens and he was holding the doll up to the camera.....it was great!! "

Now, wasn't that worth reading??????????????????

Island Hopper, don't be mad at me for sharing what you told me... it's just too coooool.

I can now say... I know a person, who knows a person, who has touched his garment.....

okay.. I'll now be quiet....addiction is right on track........

There is a thread that talks about memorabilia and several of those people that posted obtained it from Jimmy himself. I know I have had the honor of shaking his hand. Just a lucky fan no inside here. Several people believe Jimmy checks the site or at least someone close to him. There are friends and relatives of band members that post here. So, I am sure that at least some of our useless banter makes it to Jimmy. Think about it, live concert CD's and DVD's .. OH MY..

I know a few years ago Jimmy made a reference about checking COBO. If he knows about that site, I'm sure he knows about this one.

He's made a reference of BN during the Tiki Time tour and Rick's right about band members or their family posting here. He and several other bandmembers and/or family members were also aware of our fundraising project with our cookbook and contributed recipes.

I remember hearing that too. In fact, I think we were listening and doing the setlist once when we heard him say it.

For sure, he is aware of some of the stuff on here. I don't know anyone who could possibly scan it all...then again, maybe someone does.

You can bet his lawyers check in to make sure people are doing the right thing and his copyright is protected etc etc etc ....

And I doubt anything that those of us who know the band members may tell them, gets passed on to Jimmy .....

I got an idea, we'll ask him in Vegas! We are all staying at the same place for an intimate concert, he may be drinking with us Friday night for all we know!
