News of this has been floating around for a while. I'm pretty excited about it but I'd be much more excited if the other participants were Lyle Lovett, Jerry Jeff Walker, Todd Snider, Guy Clark and John Prine...

I heard that George Strait was going to be on the new album (I thought I read that on BN awhile back). So there is still hope.

Billy Payne was with Buffett at Margaritaville for that famous show after they recorded 14 or so songs at Shrimpboat. You could hear him loud and clear on Dixie Chicken. Also, he did a little music while Jimmy was discussing with the band.

I loved listening to that show.

Those folks came to mind just because they all (with the exception of Guy Clark) have some sort of Buffett connection. Of course it would be great if at least one Steve Goodman song made the cut since he'd fit right in with that bunch.

On the Celine tip, I do remember reading in a Rolling Stone article that Buffett was considering including Cyndi Lauper on it as well. I'm excited about hearing "Dixie Chicken" and "Scarlet Begonias".
