Yeah sometimes when I'm drunk at a show I simply cant understand a thing Jimmy says. Especially at indoor shows, sometimes its all mumbled together.

Earl, Where in the world where you? I looked everywhere for you there....

I think that the Corona had memory cell killer in it, cause I can't remember some of it also.... I also don't remember him talking about his MOM, but friends told me he did mention her and someone else... but, I can't even remember who that was.... or who told me.

I am starting to have Buffett Blackouts... oh my!! Has my Buffett addiction come to this???

(PS.. BTW???>>how did you get your bootleg so quickly... from whom, may I ask???)

i think earl did not want to hang with the old pholks at the areana hotel. in another thread, he said he went to a parking lot behind the san jose water company building, where there was a minor hush hush tail gate going on.

I wanted to hang with you guys but I wasnt sure where you where all hanging out, so I just went to the only tailgate I knew of (the parking guy told me about it) I had fun either way, but I was confused as to where you guys where meeting the whole time before the show.

What I remember is a comment in the beginning about missing the first concert and then at the end, dedicating Scarlet Begonias to her and Jerry Garcia. I'm not sure why his mom, I don't think she was a Deadhead, but maybe someone else knows why???

thanks for reminding me... I look forward to hearing the show...

Peets a deadhead????? !!! Now that is an interesting thought!!!!!

I have lost both of my parents, and I miss them terribly... I think it is awesome that he is able to dedicate a song to her memory... I wish that I could do the same thing for my beloved parents.
BUt, alas, that is just another thing his celebrity status brings to him.

Way to go, Jimmy!!

Maybe I'm a little shallow on this topic, but I interpreted JB's reference to his mom and Jerry Garcia's as just being both being gone from our world. I didn't take it as her being interested in the Dead: perhaps I'm mistaken here. One other comment of interest to me about his preface to Scarlet Begonias was that he & Reefers rehearsed at the Warfield Theater in San Fran: what I wouldn't have given to be a gecko on those walls!! I love the Warfield Theater anyway, have seen shows there for over twenty years and wouldn't it be great if ...... if ...... ah, never mind: I'll just file that thought in the unsaid wish bucket.

Also, please help with observation both Sand and I made after second encore that we haven't been able to interpret. Since we were definitely in the "higher lawn" section of the Tanque de Tiburones, we were able to observe that JB stopped just behind stage corner after second encore to "do something". Is he fighting head cold, just getting O2, asthmatic, cry or what? Anyone have any insight on this observation?

I am sure you are right about his mom and Jerry being gone, but it was interesting he didn't mention his dad. I guess Peets was just so recent for him.

I thought that a great charity (Habitat for Humanity for example) could sell out the Warfield as a benefit and we could have a great, up close and personal show. Oh, to dream...

I was on that side of the stage and thought he was just getting water and wiping off his face, but I could be wrong (it wouldn't be the first time.)

Great show, great night, is it April yet? :P

We might have been kind of far from JB at this time (plus I was well into my teens of Coronas), but we didn't think he was just getting a drink. I have been known to be mistaken (but never rong!!!)..... :pirate:

I would guess the only reason he only mentioned his mom is because it was her death that caused the rest of the tour to be delayed.

In the Aneheim show he said that he knew he must continue as she would have wanted it that way.

I think it is so refreshing that a 57 year old man, that is rich, rich, rich, would even think to talk about his Mom.... let alone wipe his eyes because he still grieves...

I love that guy!!

I barely remember jimmy saying something about his mom, I'll know for sure once I get my CD's in the mail...BTW I"ll figure out how to share the audio with y'all. Matter of fact the passing of jimmy's dad then mom was a topic of conversation with a lot of the people I talked to at the tailgate. Poor Jimmy :(
