Below your radar

Post by finsup2k »

New thread...here's a question for long-time parrotheads. Given Jimmy's extensive catalog, undoubtedly there are some songs that somehow remained below your radar for far too long (now, they might be 'favorite' songs). For me, that song is "Take Another Road".

What's yours?

Take Another Road for me also.

"Presents to Send You." Every time I hear it, I always have the same reaction: "I forgot how much I LIKE this one!" :D

Prior to his last concert I put on Fruitcakes. It's been a while since I listened to that album. I forgot how much I liked "Quitely Making Noise".

I've been quiet for a while but I had to chime in on this one. Lately I've been listening to 'Dallas' a lot. I really want to know how many of you have let 'That's What Living Is To Me' slip by ya.

for me it would have to be changing channels. possibly my favorite buffett song, but i never really listened to off to see the lizard until recently. that album just seemed a little harder for me to get into.

Mine would have to be either Cliches or Lip Service. On side note, I heard a radio commercial for a travel company in the Peoria, Il, area and the background music was JB singing Holiday! 8)

Ya know, I tried to start a thread like this about a month ago, although I was trying to get some seeds planted for the "mini tour".. I love JB's tunes, but I like him to "pull one out of the hat" when I see him live.

I'm liking this list (wouldn't you just save a manatee to hear him do "Presents to Send You" live?), and have a few I would add:

Take it Back
Carnival World
Scarlet Begonia(s)

I felt disappointed after the Anaheim show that Jimmy didn't "bring a surprise" for us (San Jose got "It's my Job" and "Changing Channels", Vegas got "Saxophones", we got nothing out of the ordinary.)

I'd also love to hear "Quietly Making Noise" live...I never got it at the '93-94 shows.

Overall, without question, "Take it Back" is the most recent gem.
