Don't think too hard. It's just a song about Capt. Tony in which the name has obvious similarities to the movie. Same as White Sport Coat and Pink Crustacean's similarities to Pink Carnation. It's just a clever little name, that's all.

I'm guessing here but . . .
Going along with the words that follow ("I took the last train out of Saigon, I took the first-class boat to China..."), I would imagine it's just a nifty way to focus on Capt. Tony's spirit of adventure and love of travel.

But then I could be completely wrong.

it is a play on words and old phrases.
its the first fast boat to china...instead of take a slow boat to china.etc,etc.
all from old time movies
