guitar strap

Post by king of somewhere hot »

Hey gang, I am looking for a tropical themed guitar strap (i.e. palm trees, fins up, etc) for an acoustic guitar. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find one?

thanks in advance.

By the way, this is post number one after several visits to read. I hope I did not infringe on anyone's user name. If I did, please let me know and I will adjust.

thanks.

Awhile back I read an article about the guy who makes Jimmy's guitar straps. If I can find it I will pass it along. JOHN

Here is the company that has made some for Jimmy. They can make you a custom one if you can't find one you like. Looks a little pricey though.[/url]

I got a pretty nice one from the MARS music store in St. Louis. It's a nylon strap that has sharks all over it. I don't know the manufacture or if they still have them, but I'll look tonight and see if there's any information on the strap itself.

I have been asking about this since I got on here!!! I just said something the other day!!! I even emailed the Margaritaville stores and suggested it. Why has no one told me all this info!!!!

But thanks! And I will pass on any info I find, too.

Welcome, KOSH!

It WAS in the northern part of St. Louis. I just read that they declared bankruptcy and closed their retail sites. It may take some searching, but here is the info of the strap itself.

Manufacture by Levy's and the number is MP#14. The strap is agua blue, gray, and silver with sharks swimming all over it.

This is the closest I've seen to a JB related strap on the market.

Good Luck!

BC, I hope you know I am kidding and I'm not really mad! I never set up an actual thread, which is the smart thing to do. I only asked here and there on the boards. I am grateful for all the suggestions you and others posted here and to KOSH for starting the thread!

BTW, the one you posted was the only one I actually knew about. But you're right - they are way too expensive for me!

I heard a rumor that there might be tropical themed guitar straps on E-bay!
