Ideas to beat Cabin Fever?

Post by SemiTrueSkerm »

High Temp last three weeks here: 14 degrees
Low Temp last three weeks here: -18 degrees

Cabin Fever has set in this year more than others.
Somebody sound the alarm....

No money to travel where its warm. :(

I'm going crazy. Help!
I need cheap, easy activities to provide the necessary diversion and bring me closer to Margaritaville.

My ideas have begun to wear:

1. Crank Buffett in my car round the clock (I do this all the time anyway)
2. Fire up the blender and make a boat drink
3. Search every Buffett site around
4. Plan next year's concert tailgate (See Gorilla Suit thread...)
5. Watch new Buffett DVD over..and over...and over again...
6. Get Drunk
7. Surf the internet for exotic unknown Caribbean Islands
8. Clean my apartment
9. Look at old concert pictures

Need more creative suggestions....

Stay drunk for the next 6 weeks. It will make time go by faster, the next thing you know, its spring 8)

Thats what I'm going to do.

Go to Wisconsin's version of Margaritaville... aka Cheeseburger in Paradise in Middleton, on west side of Madison.

Some of us will be there Saturday night... check out "wanna do Madison" thread for details.

Numbers 1-9 are all feasible for the midwest as well... only other thing I can suggest is to listen to recordings of past Alpine concerts... if you don't have any, see the Concert Trading section of the site.

Last March when we had a crippler of a storm out here in Denver and weren't able to go anywhere for two days, we dug into the middle of a 6' snow drift, filled up the blender with the snow and appropriate alcohol(s) and made Snow-Garita's and Snow-Colada's  It sure made the time go by faster. Actually, I think most of us passed out and just didn't remember those two days

Caution: Watch out for the yellow snow. It ain't Lemon flavored!

Write a book. Sit down and put all of your great drinking stories together. I tried this once when I was unemployed. It wasn't anywhere near a good book, but I had a fun time remembering. it helps to be drunk when you're doing this too.

Turn up the electric blanket. Fire up the blender, and just wait for summer.

Check out the islandsforsale.com website while drinking a few boat drinks and think about which one you'd buy if:

A. JB left you all of his money or
B. You won that darn lottery!

I'm going to the Boat Show this week. I'm sure that will help with my cabin fever. I'll look like this :o stepping on to the 1/2 million dollar boats.

Oh well, Puerto Vallarta at the end of February should help a little also.
...I think I've got a touch of Island Fever...
