has anyone been to "Castaways"
the bar where the "5o clock somewhere" video was filmed is a good 1.5 hour drive for me in Orlando down to Jupiter, looks like an interesting place, anyone ever been or is it just dressed up for the video?
Grandfather always told me if i went down i might never come back again.

Castaways Bar
We went there the first part of January. It is a real bar frequented
by locals. The only thing dressed up for the video is that they are not licensed to sell mixed drinks. You can only get beer or wine and no food.
The bartender, Vickie, is in the video. According to the locals, she stole
the show and I agree. She is the one in the cowboy hat. The other bartender,Landon, doubled for Alan Jackson, on the shots from the helciopter
They brought in ten models for the shoot.
They have a few photos of Alan taken the day of the shooting.
They sell 5 O' Clock Somewhere sweat shirts and t-shirts.
The bar is actually in the Castaways Marina and the bar's name is the Square Grouper. The have a website www.squaregrouper.com
It is located is in old residential area. The residents were complaining about the noise and late night hours of the bar, buit lost their battle
at the city council mtg. by a vote fo 3 to 2.

Castaways
Great place to kick back a cold one and enjoy the sunset view of Jupiter light. Limited drink and food (hotdog or hotdog) but plenty of palm trees and water. I don't know if I would make the 2 hour drive for just Castaways, but if I was anywhere in the area...
