I will be taking the family back down to Orange Beach in May. We are pretty familiar with this area but are looking to explore some other nearby areas. Can anyone tell me if Mobile or Pensecola, or any other areas have anything interesting to offer? Keep in mind I will have two daughters ages 3 and 5 along with me.
Thanks for the help.

Fort Conde is located in downtown & the battleship USS Alabama along with a submarine are on the Mobile side of the bay. A short drive west of Mobile in Theodore is
Bellingrath Gardens. You can also catch a ferry from Ft. Morgan (Gulf Shores) over to Dauphin Island then drive to Theodore (much shorter drive & better trip) to get to Bellingrath Gardens. Also at Dauphin Island is the
Estuarium.

Hollar at me if you have any questions. I grew up in Mobile, though I have been gone a while now, so I can probably answer most questions you might have.

There is a place called Pier 3 (if my memory serves me) on the Bay that had great food. This may be where aquaholic is speaking of.

Fort Morgan is a very cool place to go if you haven't already visited. Also if you are in search of an excellent place to eat, I would highly recommend Lambert's. It is a good place for all kinds of people. It is located in Foley. I have frequented Gulf Shores for the last couple years so I pretty much know a lot of the area.
