Sorry, dude... but in my opinion... this throws your credibility out the window. I still respect your opinion, being that it is logical and insightful, but you just can't be both... sorry!

Sure you can! I'm a born and bred Red Sox fan, but the Cubs are my NL team, too. Now, if they're playing each other, it's a no-brainer - I'm rooting for the Sox!! :D

They can have him. Yes he has the potential to be a great hitter, but he is a very free swinger and he can't lay off the low and away pitch!!
Some times I feel like a propeller, spin, spin outtta control. I don't who is up on the throttle, boy I wish they would let it go....

And he sucks in the field. Can anyone say Jose Offerman?

I'm telling you he is going to be a great ballplayer, he just needs a little discipline at the plate. Don't try to tell me you would rather have Pokey Reese play second than Alfonso. The guy hits 30+ homeruns and more importantly steals 30+ bases.

Okay... I'm officially confused... :-?
If you didn't, then what does THIS:

mean? :o

btw... I am not LMAO  at this whole thing until Bud Selig signs off on it. I'm sure his little brain is nearly exploding trying to crank out some reason to reject this deal, so as to give his best-buds at the Sox yet another crack at doing one!

This is not a Red Sox Yankee issue like the media in NY and some of the media in Boston are making it out to be, people seem to think Red Sox fans went to bed crying last night about this  . We still have the best starting pitching baseball, a very good 1-9 line-up and a strong bench. This trade may get the Yankees a few more wins in the regular season but the true impact will be how the Yankees do in the post season, that is if they make it to the post season. The Yankees have improved themselves no doubt about it but they have essentialy replaced Boone and Sorinio with ARod and have no one to play 2nd base.

I was just playfully suggesting that you couldn't legitimately be a Yankees fan and a Cubs fan... either one or the other... no self-respecting Cubs fan could, in good faith, cheer for the Yankees :x

I think the Yankees have more to worry about than who's going to play second base. Since Joe Torre became the manager in 1996 they've always had good guys in the clubhouse. Now they have head cases like Kenny Lofton, Gary Sheffield and Kevin Brown and a prima donna like Rodriguez. I don't care how much they deny it publicly I don't think Rodriguez and Jeter like each other. Then you have a guy like Jason Giambi who is paid to be a leader but can't take the heat when things don't go well, like last year. They could have a lot of chemistry problems on that team. I see a fourth straight year without a World Series title for George Steinbrenner.

A-Rod will get his own suite on roadtrips.
Kevin Brown will have use of the company jet for trips home.
The Boss is gonna be breathing fire down Torre's neck all year...

I bet this team will implode before August :D

Just heard on a local Boston station that Yankees are close to signing Greg Maddox...... How funny is it going to be when they go a 4th year without a championship after spending $200 million dollars

Not quite as funny as going 85 years without winning a championship.

And you forgot Travis Lee!

I go away for a week and all hell breaks loose.

What's even more funny is when Jeter goes down with an injury and they move A-Rod to shortstop. What happens next should be high comedy.

Gee, replacing the second-best shortstop in the league with the first-best? :o I like comedy like that!

Exactly! :D
I guess we'll have to wait another 81 years to really know what desperation feels like, eh?
