Hey everybody, I've got a quesiton for ya that I hope you can help me out with. I might have an opportunity with my company to move down to J-ville. Right now I'm up in NC, and Florida's climate is sounding pretty dang nice right now. Does anyone off here live there or have spent a lot of time there? Is it pretty nice? Clean? Affordable? Cool things to do? etc? I've just got out of college, and I'm single, so the move would only affect me. Oh yeah, and most important....hows the Parrothead scene down there?? Thanks for your help guys....PHINS UP!!!

What school in NC?
I've been down to Jacksonville a few times. Most recently for the Pack/Irish Gator Bowl a couple of years ago. They have some good areas and some bad areas like everywhere else. I was particularly impressed with "Jacksonville Landing" which is on the water in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. Its a collection of bars and a common open area for bands to play. I had a great time there. As much as I enjoyed it, I love it here in NC more.

I graduated from Campbell Univ. Not far from Raleigh. Right now I'm in Winston-Salem. Its not that bad...just seems like everyone here is a lot older, I'm 23 (nothing wrong with older!!) haha I'm working in banking, and it seems like its going to be either Raleigh, Charlotte, J-ville, or maybe Richmond. I know the J-ville is a big financial center. I'm from Gastonia which is right outside Charlotte. I love the city, but I was thinking it might be a little more fun by the beach. Keep the comments rolling...thanks for you help everyone

JAX is a GREAT place! I love to go down there. I have friends down there who are great! And the A1A PHclub is SUPER and they do some really cool things not only for charity but also just for fun. Out of the places you have to choose from, definitely try to JAX! IMHO.

It seems as though everyone is moving here nowday's! Well, I've lived here since '91, from the panhandle. I still love the Gulf Coast beaches and lifestyle better than here in Jax, but Jacksonville is a great place to live. I would suggest looking at the south side of town or near Ponte Vedra, but it depends on your job location, traffic is getting really bad everywhere. The A1A PH club is great, they do great work in the community and by all accounts have big fun doing it (insert shameless plug). I'm assuming that your in your early 20's same as our children and their friends, they say there's nothing to do and all the clubs are boring, but my nephew comes to town and loves it, so I guess there just too familiar. Take a visit and welcome to Jacksonville!

I went home for lunch and COPS was on from Jacksonville FL, looked like and other big city to me. It would appear that the cops there frown on driving around with crack and a pistol in your car.

I live near Jacksonville and lived in J-Ville for about a year.
I'm actually about 30 miles south of J-Ville and 20 miles west of St. Augustine.
St. Augustine would be well worth looking into too.
It has a caribbean feel to me, plus they have a parrothead club in the works.

Two friends of mine got married and moved to J-ville about 4 years ago. They love it down there but miss all their family back in northern Georgia. I usually go hang out with them for the UGA/UF game every fall and it's always a great time. Jacksonville Landing is definitely a blast.
