As he posted in another thread, Elrod called the office at Alpine that handles VIP tickets at $1000+ a pop, and they told him they didn't kow when the Alpine date was.

I'd make a fully-refundable, cancel-able hotel reservation based on Dino's info, but that's about it.......

it is shady...the onsale date that was posted could be 'guessed' by anyone since the last few years, the first saturday after st patties has marked ticket sales.

Guess we will wait and see...I haven't booked the hotels yet, but I am close to attempting to get my spot at chicago.

Actually, I'm not being completely picky here, but I believe what Elrod alluded to was that the Alpine Valley venue knew the date, but were not able to confirm the date with Elrod. I could be mistaken, but that's what I gathered from his post the other day.

I'm leaning toward Dino being right on about the dates. If he posts and runs, it does not necessarily invalidate his information. It just frustrates us more. We shall find out soon enough, eh!?

I won't believe it until I get my e-mail from Margaritaville or I see it on TM.com.

But I am keeping Sat. 3/20 open just in case

That's my point, IUP. If they won't tell someone who's talking about paying big bucks for primo seats what the date is, why would they tell anyone?

Most of the people who get inside info about Buffett's comings and goings are FAR more subtle about how they convey that info to us, when they do, and Dino's tone strikes me false.

All that having been said, yes, Dino may have it right, but I wouldn't bet money or commit work vacation dates based on his posts.

Agreed Jen. I just think this guy got the info from a venue source, not a Buffett source, so he doesn't feel he has an obligation to be discreet. Who knows! I'm holding on to my reservations though!

I don't know if this matters, but a poster named DINO is creating havoc on the SATC forum at HBO.

He's posted "confirmed" dates though for several venues.....so I doubt if he has connections at several locations. Most of us are lucky if we know someone at one venue.....to have inside sources at 5-6 places is just not believeable.

Let's say this guy works for a company who has this information and he is a true parrothead....maybe he wants us to be the first to know, but knows he will get fired if he reveals info too early..hense the incognito....??hmmm.....I want to believe, I really do

Honestly...I don't know what to think anymore. Somehow, I feel that Dino might be right.
I love the theory that Dino might be Jimmy Buffett. I do believe that somewhere on this sight there is the real Buffett amoung us.
Somehow, though, I think there's a conspiracy going on here. Probably has something to do with the big oil companies! Although more likely it has something to do with Clear Channel and Ticketbastard.
Either way, Dino's credability will be determined when we get the official tour dates from Margaritaville. And I suspect that will be soon...especially if July 10th is Alpine Valley. If it's in fact the date, I think they'd want to get it out instead of all of us calling Alpine hundreds of times over the next several days (there's an idea!).
Ten calls/day X 50 BNers = 500 Calls/Day for Alpine Receptionists.

I honestly doubt that Dino is Jimmy, but if he were, Dino is a dinosaur.... Jimmy's been at this for over 30 years... practically a dinosaur in the music industry.....

I lean toward Dino being someone behind the scenes at ClearChannel who likes watching Pavlov's dogs (us ) drool and jump all over the place.......

This shouldn't be to hard to figure out. Have one of the moderaters look up the IP address of DINO, that will tell you where DINO posted from!
