Given those options, I chose my favorite..QMN.

As to the best "opener" for a show, my vote would have to go to "Cuban Crime of Passion" from the 1997 Havana Daydreamin' tour..Nothing better than seeing JB with Nadirah, Tina and one other singer throwing down some energy out front to start a show.

"psst..Hey Jimmy...D'ya think you could get Cynthia Calhoun (from the '00 Steely Dan tour) for the 3rd singer this tour???" :D

RE: Opening song for a show

I've been listening to Down to Earth; and considering a possible country flavor to the tour, I was thinking "The Christian" (Also it has a double meaning with the popularity of "Passion" and JB's tying in of current events)

I know it will NEVER happen but for some reason I like the beat of the song with the opening line "It's a hell of a time to be thinking about Heaven"

what would they do if I just sailed away
Who the hell really compelled me to leave today
Runnin' low on stories is what made it a ball
What would they do if made no landfall

Here's a long shot...what about opening with Margaritaville? Great song, would get the energy going as well... But the best part would be it might help clear out those 'one song fans' who only come because they know the one song!!

I think "Bidness" would be especially appropriate given his unusual commercial success this year.

I hope it's still Great Heart although I doubt it. I think that Banana Wind would make a nice musical intro.

Stars on the Water would be a good opening number. George Strait used it on the DVD of his Rodeo Houston concert as his opener.

Lage Nome Ai was the opener in 99 I believe.
Barometer Soup does seem very fitting.

Out of the choices listed...Landfall would be the best.....It would get the crowd into the show immediately....

...but it doesn't really matter to me...I think he should open with a different song at each show....but we all know that it won't happen...
