Of all the weeks i had to get sunburn from hell this is the one. 85 sounds great but I am as red if not redder than a dang tomato right now. Thanks Salem Avalanche for having a 1pm game on Tuesday and thanks Salem Avalanche for making me leave work early to get burned  In all seriousness everyone be careful in the parking lot sat and don't end up like me.
I haven't been able to focus at work any this week either so I am on our calendar at work half days until Thursday. I only have 1 full day of work left until Saturday.

Just a quick note I went by the DMV today and the Virginia Parrothead plates still were not available, I wanted to get mine before we left Friday but that dosen't look like it is going to happen. See you there on Saturday, be safe everyone.

[quote="Lvskns"]we can all decide where we will set up shop.. i would imagine our group is going to want to head to the coliseum lot when they supposedly open at 1, but we'll just have to wait and see....quote]

Are they opening at 1:00 now? I thought it was 3:00. I think my group is tailgating at the AmeriSuites, but not sure.

I found this link to the pre-parties. The Marriott is actually $15 unless you ordered advanced tickets. http://www.parrotheadclubofcharlotte.co ... cert04.htm

I'm really pumped up for Saturday. Everyone bring a beach ball or 2 inside the Coliseum so we can create our "indoor beach". See ya all there!

I'll be the guy in the bright yellow Aloha shirt handing out leis before the show. I just picked up a gross of them. I'll happily trade 3 or 4 for beer (or other libations). :D

morning everybody!

mrmiata - nothing like getting leid at a buffett show :)

bumper - cindy lou and crew will be staying at the amerisuites and that is where we will be starting our party when we arrive saturday morning around 11:30ish... that is right beside jocks and jills... if the coliseum opens at 1 like we have heard rumored, we will more than likely set up shop there... if it's later, like 3, we will probably stay at the amerisuites and party there is they allow

sidew13 - we won't be hitting the marriott, but sure hope to find you guys at the amerisuites or jocks and jills!

Need some info help from my Parrothead friends. Even though they may say "no tailgating", what time do you expect the parking lots to open?

See ya'll in 3 days!

Does anyone know if we're allowed to park in the coliseum parking lot and then walk over to Jocks and Jills? Would Security let us back in and is J&J's within walking distance?

Need some people who know to respond!!! This would solve all of our parking problems at J&J's and have a place to keep our cars/boats/trucks/buses... in one place while we can focus on more important things. :pirate:

Parrothead plates

Post by Ta4fins »

The plates are still about 6 weeks away for those of us who pre ordered after that they will be released to the DMV offices.

I just called the coliseum. I told them that I was staying at the Amerisuites (right next to J&J's) and that I would be leaving my car there and walking across the street, they said that you can walk into the parking lot without a vehicle. HOWEVER, even though J&J is right across the street, we are talking a 6 lane street with no median and people haul butt down that street. It is not an entirely safe thing to do. BUT, J&J will have a van that will shuttle people TO the venue starting at 6:00 (just called them, too, ahh the advantage of being a local). J&J will have a local band at 2:00, then the Rum Punch Bandits (JB cover band) at 5:00.
Anything else you need to know?

Thanks for all the info. One more question, do you know if the Amerisuites will allow people to tailgate in their lot and is there enough room?

Ok, once again, from the source:
Their parking lot is actually smaller than Jock's & Jill's which is the size of a restaurant lot. The hotel is booked for the weekend so the parking lot is already going to be at capacity but if you are staying there, you should have a spot. They are sold out for Friday night because of Metallica so their could even be stragglers.
They are at the front of a business park that also contains a Bank of America. BOA ropes off their parking lot and staffs it with police, so there will be a presence. Amerisuites may be a little lenient when it comes to the alcohol, but the cops may not be. That is all the person would say about alcohol in their lot. They are definitely going to allow tailgating, but you are on your own for the public intoxication. There is no hotel bar, J&J's is right next door.
