What's Your Method?

Post by bravedave »

Everybody has had successes and failures, and there might be no method to the madness, but what's your favorite (or luckiest) way of getting tickets to your favorite performer's show?

Internet usually works for me!

It also doesn't hurt that I always request to work when tickets go on sale and I have 3 computers in my office all on Ticketmaster at the same time.

ALSO, preregistering your name and billing info with TM is always a good idea. The fewer number of clicks you need to make, the less chance there is of getting that Proxy Server error that always seems to rear its ugly head.

I've been shut out trying TM via phone and dial up internet... resort to scalpers, but for no more than $15-$20 over face and charges.

This will be my 1st year with DSL! Woo Hooo!

Been lucky with Tickets. (I'm banging on my thick head with a hammer yelling "knock on wood" this very second.) There's a TM outlet close to my house. I was the only person there buying tickets.

I've bought there for 3 years, Nashville, Chicago, and Chicago. No problems.

Usually multiple computers on a hi-speed cable modem. If we need need a large number of tickets, we'll send some folks out to stand in line at local TM outlets.

We needed 14 tix for Camden. We had 4 people on a total of 10 computers in 3 different locations. We also had 3 people standing in line. We ended up with 24 tickets (2 computer hits for 8 each, and 1 in-line for 8). We sold the 8 from the TM outlet to folks at the end of the line for face value.

I always try for LAWN seats unless I go to Tampa. The internet has not failed me in five years so far for lawn seats, wherever I go. But we always have at least three different computer stations going at different sites. Knocking on wood that it keeps working!!!

Has anyone recently been able to get tix over the phone with TM? Seemed impossible the few times I've tried.
