Just wondered how many BN'ers are going to Indy.

I'll be there with DrinkinOnAFakeID. Also wondered where everyone is staying?

Also which Indy show is everyone going to? I'm going to the Thursday show, then off to Alpine 2 nights later. It's only 3 or 4 hours away. Does anyone else have this in the works?

I have done Indy the past few years, not this year----just doesnt work with my schedule. Place to stay is across the street at Sleepy Bear Campground. Since they dont allow tailgating at the venue--this is where everyone meets up and parties. The night before the show, if it doesnt rain is always a blast.

I will most certainly be there as I live close to Verizon. Good idea for those looking to stay in the area is to book the hotel next to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Last year I heard they tailgated in the parking lot and sold package deals including a room at the hotels next to the restaurant as well as transportation to and from the concert!!! Might be worth the while if you plan on taking a trip to Margaritaville prior to the concert!

I'll be there, the Indy club is working on putting together a bus trip as well. Last year CiP had a package deal, but it was $500 per couple (it did include $50 gift card for food and drinks, hat and shirt, pavilion seat, ticket, bus ride- no alcohol allowed- and the hotel room). I don't know what they're doing this year, but it sounded like they really took a hit on it last year. I'll post whatever I find out.

Um rethink that----it is not 3 or 4 hours. From Indy to Alpine---in 2002 it took us over 7 hours. ( Traffic backup on 65 due to a truck hauling steel, jackhammering a grand prix( or what looked like what was left of a grand prix) then to be stuck in friday afternoon rush hour traffic around the city of chicago.)) In 2003 I think we made it up there in about 5 or 6 hours. So just to let ya know its not 3 or 4 hours. When you get to the 65/94/80 area be prepared to sit in your car for a long time. If i remember correctly--it took us close to 2 hours to get through that mess---and its the same all the time. You may consider getting of at Rte 30 (Lincoln Highway) on 65 and traveling on that all the way to Illinois and getting back on 80 there to save some time.

Mental Floss- There are 3 hotels within crawling distance of CiP, a Best Western, Courtyard By Marriot and I think a Comfort Suites. The oldest might be 3 years old. We actually just did an Expedia search on the address last year to get all of their info. The BW is farthest, and it's just a matter of going out the back door and cutting through the 2 other hotels' parking lots, it's close enough to party at CiP and go back to your rooms to do shots if you don't want to pay bar prices or whatever. I should get some info about what they're doing tonight (possibly- last year the club had already booked our bus before they had even finalized the package). They will probably eventually put a banner on the site (www.cheeseburgerinparadise.com) with the info as well (at least, I think they did that last year).

going to indy

Post by robtraci »

new here, we went on one of CIP buses last year. No booze on our bus allowed but some of the other buses did allow cans!

We'll be there again this year.....Thurs night concert. We are going to rent a limo for the evening instead of doing the bus again! :D
